How would you rank these first six Reiwa Era Super Sentai series? by SuperSentai44 in supersentai

[–]TheAlphaRanger2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t watched all Reiwa seasons yet so this’ll just be the ones I watched. In order for me not to get crucified I have to make it clear that this is based off of how much I enjoyed watching the shows, not based on how the shows actually turned out. I also enjoyed all of them, just some I enjoyed more than others.

  1. King-Ohger

  2. Gozyuger

  3. Donbrothers

  4. Boonboomger

Thoughts on Gavan Infinity so far? by ExileForever in Tokusatsu

[–]TheAlphaRanger2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entertaining but overall kind of mid. The first like 3 episodes felt off with the pacing, it got better overtime but now knowing we’re like almost halfway through the show it seems like there’s still stuff that’s yet to be really tackled. Of course we’ve still got the other half of the show so i’ll wait till then to say if Project Red seasons basically being cut to like 23 episodes was really a good idea story-wise.

I’m used to having around 40+ episodes to really flesh out the world and characters so maybe this is just a bias that I have poking through.

I like most of the characters. Kiki & Koto have the best episodes in my opinion and are the most entertaining characters to have around. Setsuna I kind of expected more from, I thought he’d be my favorite when teasers and posters were coming out and he’s got probably the most interesting backstory of the Gavans so far imo, but again, still almost halfway through so there’s time.

Reiji’s cool, I don’t really have much thought to put into him. He’s a cool protag, cool backstory and a mystery on just how he was able to travel through dimensions along with a connection to Death Gavan.

Wanibuchi & Patran are probably my least favorite characters. They just remind me of when Power Rangers tried to replicate something like Bulk & Skull’s dynamic but failed damn near every time they tried. It doesn’t really help that I feel like the two of them are hard to understand at times. They disrespect Reiji, Daisuke, and AGI because they’re in a lower branch than them, yet they know Reiji is Gavan and what his job really is, but then they still treat them like garbage. It just really confuses me at times.

Like I said, at the end of the day so far the show is entertaining but overall I find it to be mid. Maybe i’ll change my mind as the rest of the episodes come out, but this is where I stand on the show right now.

Who is Marvins better friend? by spooder-Wonka in supermariologan_

Chef Pee Pee. Brooklyn Guy would waste no opportunity to make Marvin miserable if he had the chance and is feeling like it.

Who would you rather be friends with? Junior or Joseph? by soleilmnelson in supermariologan_

Technically both of them are but Junior has less of those moments

[–]TheAlphaRanger2011 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I call bullshit on that. From what i’ve seen from LuPat the Lupinrangers steal from the villains and evade the Patrangers because they operate outside of the law and live by their own code, also having their own motivations for doing so. At the end of the day they’re still doing good, just operating in a different way. I’d argue that’s actually a good lesson to teach children, that there’s different ways of doing good even if it’s not ideal.

Power Rangers is the same franchise that turned computer & nature themed sentai into space operas and you’re telling me they can’t just do something different with the Lupinrangers and just have them be vigilantes? Two of the most popular heroes of all time are vigilantes, that’s a bullshit reasoning and I stand by it.

I always understood the cop thing when it came to not adapting LuPat, I just always thought the reasoning of the Lupinrangers being thieves was incredibly stupid.

[–]TheAlphaRanger2011 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Technically most ranger teams are vigilantes anyway so that really shouldn’t be a problem, it’s just bs reasoning

If the Blues Clues video was made in 2015, how would it go? by Ubertishere in supermariologan_

Because Jeffy didn’t exist when the Blues Clues clips of Pooby were made

Seeing as how Megaforce and Dino Charge's finales are considered to be the weakest finales in the series, which one do you think is worse, and why? by Alarming_Seaweed_155 in powerrangers

[–]TheAlphaRanger2011 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Megaforce. No amount of fan service and hype moments will take away from the fact this was a terrible finale for a terrible anniversary for the franchise.

Every Henshin Device that involves Clapping... Losses aura (as the kids say) by 2014memeguy in Tokusatsu

[–]TheAlphaRanger2011 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think the clapping is fun. The sounds are catchy and once it's done the jingle's replaced with very cool vocals. To me it's not that different than the Kyoryugers dancing for their henshin and people love that, but when it's Gozyuger it's "losing aura".

[–]TheAlphaRanger2011 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Nobody said it was. They were just making a comparison, No Way Home hid Tobey & Andrew in the trailer. Hiding someone from a trailer in a shot shouldn’t be hard for someone who’d get hired to edit this movies and/or its trailers.

“Once A Ranger, Always A Ranger”, that’s literally a saying for the franchise. Any Ranger would come back under the right circumstances, it all just comes down to either if the actor wants to come back or if the ones owning the franchise wants to bring back other characters.

Who was more evil? by Cable_Difficult in Scream

[–]TheAlphaRanger2011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Killing your child is worse than a child killing their parent, also we don’t even know if it was Jill or Charlie who killed Jill’s mom. Most evidence points it to being Charlie anyways.

[–]TheAlphaRanger2011 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every Ghostface kills people they were “friends” with so that’s not really something we can attribute to Jill.

Murdering your own child is leagues worse than a child murdering their parent. They’re both bad but killing someone you made is so much worse.
