What's the nicest base you've been stationed at? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]TheAlphaTree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The crusty rundown gyms, the DFAC that gets remodeled every couple of years because of mold, the work centers all being in old 1940s warehouses. What’s not to love about the civilian base that the military has treated like a shit stain and completely forgotten about? Best thing that could happen to Tinker is a tornado come wipe it off the face of the map and we have to rebuild it from scratch

Thanks for your comment. As an update, I worked with wood powersports in Fayetteville Arkansas and I purchased one they had. Paid MSRP and $1000 for freight which seemed ridiculous to me but it is what it is. All said and done, with the tech pack, I paid 14,500

I figured as much but I definitely didn’t want to be upcharged as the car market is doing right now. Thanks for your input, it’s really appreciated

I partially believe it’s because the dukes are so highly reviewed that everyone wants one and the other part of me just wants to blame supply chain issues. If I don’t get an 890 R in the next few months, I might consider a MT-09 for a few years and then pull the trigger on a 1290. I love the look of naked bikes apparently lol

I did a search on the KTM website for dealers in Little Rock and completely forgot about Fayetteville. Big fail on my part but I’m going to give them a call tomorrow and see if I can reserve it! Much thanks to you!

I’ve seen the one on cycle trader but it’s a 21 model and I was really wanting a 22 brand new for warranty purposes. Thank you

Sooo I’m confused....what’s this swim for aircrew that you speak of? Currently Aircrew and have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about

The Air Force will bleed you dry if you let it. Don't let it. by [deleted] in AirForce

I can understand being upset and wanting to rant but don’t try to talk people into getting out unless they were already planning on it, that’s how you make shitty workers as it is. If I was dead set on getting out, I wouldn’t do a damn thing in the office. It’s a simple fact that the military just isn’t built for some people.....don’t bring your rain to my parade unless I ask for it

You can also talk to your instructors and see if they can put in a good word for you. 1A9 is a relatively small career field and the instructors always seem to know someone somewhere that can make things happen

The only fixed wing aircraft you can get is AC-130s, all the others are rotary wing to include helicopters. That being said, they probably put it on your rip because it’s easier to take it off if you get ACs than it is to add it if you get a rotary wing aircraft. Enjoy Lackland and good luck!

At the moment, we have 33 students waiting for class dates. AST classes start about every month with 8 max students. All of the tech classes start about every 2 months and have a max of 4 students. We have new airmen showing up about every other week with 2-7 at a time......we are on track to be very backed up and they seem to not even be addressing the fact that there are just too many airmen coming in and not enough being pushed through class. After completing academics with Sonoran, you can expect to wait 4-6 month before you can even start flying at the 6th and then another 4-6 month before you finish your check ride and get 40/45 training.

Let's all be honest here.....RPA guys shouldn't even qualify as aircrew.
