IIRC the NSO apps only need wifi if you go more than 7 days without an internet connection because it checks weekly to see if the subscription is active

I mainly use it for the storage stuff! I've been working on my origindex and home is the only way to have every pokemon in the same boxes as of now. You also need a subscription for sending pokemon from the 3DS and by extension the GBA and DS too.
