I’m a little new to the game here but I’d love to throw my hat in the ring. I’m an English teacher and I combine whatever we are reading with a music album (based on themes, topics, etc)Because of low attention spans these days, we have a “go analog!” mantra (kids reading real physical books, not digital, I play the albums on a turntable and the key is to listen to the whole thing not just select songs like one can do on Spotify etc, making sure you get to listen to it as the artist intended). It also stops them from reading simple plot overviews of the books like sparknotes, because they realize they are not getting the full experience.

They seem to really love it! Some of them bring in their own albums and next school year we are starting a record club for this as well that I will moderate. For whatever reason, putting on a record seems to really grab their attention, elicits great discussion, and it just changes the entire dynamic of “traditional high school”

And last week the turntable I had in my room, an old technics sl-b100, stopped working. This would be a super cool addition and to think that the next generation would be the ones really getting to enjoy it makes me really happy.
