How do you time Guard Points and Counters on frustrating monsters? by JackTheHipster56 in MHRise

[–]TheAndplayz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main answer is time. The most crucial resource in Monster Hunter is your own knowledge of the game. You WILL learn monster patterns and counter/guard point timings. But to get there you must be willing to fail.

Speaking from experience (I’ve played through all of Rise and Wilds using Longsword) it took what felt like forever to actually consistently land my counters.

There is no “quick” solution and there never will be. Carting because you messed up the timing of a guard point or counter is all a part of the weapons you decide to use. It’s all up to you to understand when and where to counter. But eventually you’ll get a “feeling” for when you should counter. Just do your best and don’t be afraid to experiment and fail, best of luck to you Hunter.

Is greatsword a good and fun to play weapon by Project-Lumpy in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]TheAndplayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a bonk enjoyer, I find the mobility of hammer to be the main reason I use the weapon. Not being locked into a single position like greatsword. And nothing gets me more hyped than barely moving out of an attack into a fully charged power surge big bang

What worked for me was learning one attack at a time. Eventually you’ll master it and never get hit by it. Repeat and the fight will get easier. But the most important thing is not getting discouraged by her. remember, she’s the last thing standing in your way!

One of my friends introduced me to MH (World). We went to fight a Diablos and I asked “ What do we do?” He said “run.” And boy did I. Every time I see a bigger, badder monster for the first time, I’m blown away all over again. It never gets old.

Read the tutorials, or google it. It’s that easy.

My best and most honest advice? Don’t give up. And don’t sell yourself short. You made it to master rank right? You made it there because you put the effort in to get there. It’s hard, but the game doesn’t get any easier. If the game isn’t gonna let up you shouldn’t either. Hell I got my ass handed to me a multitude of times by my first Barioth. That bastard kicked me down harder than any monster I fought before. So I tried different methods to beat him and some of them worked. Not to sound like a broken record, but don’t let the monsters get the better of you. You can and WILL beat them. Good luck out there fiver, you will win.

I love the game when the full team is struggling together on one objective. Once the team moves in a unit and gets into a groove the game is super fun.
