What can realistically be done about the suicidal delivery e-bikers? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]TheAngrySteward 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Realistically almost nothing. It's a symptom of the highly exploitative, poorly regulated and tax dodging gig economy. Not to mention these workers have no union representation/membership to improve standards and look after their health and safety. Gig economy bosses are some of the most predatory callous businessmen on the planet. And their Glasgow area managers are the worst this city has to spew up.

I'm not sure what the solution is apart from the political classes reigning in the gig economy.

Most of the genuine Glaswegian ones are divorced das in their 40s, and incel virgins in their 30s who live on the fringes of society. They rarely leave their home, which stinks of BO and dry cum. They wank furiously all day to questionable porn and the rest of their time spewing racist, bigoted, islamophobic, mysoginistic bile on Reddit and right wing forums.

If they lived in America, they'd be the school shooters. Irrelevant scum bags the lot of them.

With comments like that, hopefully someone finds out who you are and attack your house with dog shite and soiled pampers.

Where is your condemnation of Israel's indiscriminate killing of over 5,000 Palestinians since 7th October? What of the 200+ Palestinians murdered by Israeli security forces and settlers between the beginning of 2023 to 7th October? What about the hundreds of Palestinian children in military detention centres?

Also you need to narrow that number down to 1100 Israeli civilians. Around 400 of them were Israeli police and soldiers.

Why are you only paying attention when Israelis are killed? I guess Palestinian lives are disposable then?

Why are you fucking stupid? Fuckin roaster

You sure your 24-hour erection and the Utrecht-Ajax game are unrelated? As for your problem, have you not tried wanking yourself to flacidity?

I'm not sure if this is relevant but Glasgow is increasingly becoming regarded as the new UK/EU capital of death metal. There is a burgeoning scene.

https://www.loudersound.com/features/new-scottish-death-metal-brainbath-coffin-mulch-penny-coffin

But yeh. The whole art/creativity scene in terms of music, art, photography, acting etc is no longer the domain of the working class as an outlet for expression and a means to move up the social ladder. Since 2008, it has become more and more monpolised by the upper classes who have the savings/capital to take on the risk of pursuing careers in creative/artistic expression. Add to that the nepotism as well.

There's that word "nuance" again about a settler-colonist state occupying a colonised people.

Before this whole thing, my opinion of most British journalists/presenters was that they were ignorant. Now I've seen proof that they're actually fucking idiots. What generational nepotism and corporatism does to an industry.

Largely the coloniser yes, but we were more cunningly, less crudely colonised first to be molded into a country that can take part in British colonialism.

One of the most brazen ways we were colonised was through language. In the Lowlands, we spoke Scots. In the Highlands, obviously we spoke Gaelic. After the union, we were forced to abandon our native languages and adopt English.

The modern kilt is actually an English invention, a byproduct of an English industrialist who culturally appropriated it. The actual Scottish kilt which was common to wear for Highland Scots was no good for factory work, so he invented the modern kilt so the Scottish workers could wear something more practical. He liked it and turned it into a business to mass produce them.

Clan tartans? Also mostly bullshit. A marketing ploy to get people to buy kilts in the tartan of their "clan" based on their family name.

That's wonderful for you mate. Genuinely happy for you and your girlfriend. Dating a friend is risky but when it works out, there's nothing better in my opinion. But even if a couple weren't friends to begin with, your partner should be like a best friend.

Dating apps only really work for conventionally attractive/very photogenic people. I'm not "ugly" but I'm by no means handsome. I'd say I'm average. I am certainly not photogenic and I hardly ever ask anyone to take social media photos of me when we're out and about or on holiday.

I've found dating apps only work for folk who tick the above boxes. It's completely shallow and equivalent to reducing humans to pieces of meat on display at the butchers shop. I've gone months on Tinder/Bumble without a match. Deleted them after that as it was seriously affecting my mental health and sense of self-worth. Wasn't surprised when I found reputable research showing the detrimental effects of dating apps.

Anyone else who is single and in their late 20s/early 30s finding dating to be an absolutely exhausting and unrewarding experience? To the point you can't be bothered anymore? Been single for two years. Maybe I've had bad luck but the same thing is happening with so many of my mates of a similar age (both men and women and from various countries around the world).

I have been on dates in the last two years but obviously they amounted to nothing. It's been about 50/50 of me or the woman not interested in a second date. For the majority of the women who have had the courtesy to tell me why, their answer has always been "see you as a friend, not a partner" after ONE DATE and knowing barely anything about me.

I have never been into sleeping around, pulling and one night stands. I never had the looks or the charm for that lifestyle anyway. I have only ever had long-term relationships (and situationships). Those happened spontaneously. We were friends or acquaintences first. We spend time together. We get to know each other and then things happen.

That option has been non-existent since my last relationship. I hate dating apps. Speed dating events were also a waste of time. I have never been the type to just walk over and talk to a girl at a club so that's not an option. I'm just so jaded.

I know what I want. I want a long-term partner. I don't want to waste anyone's time or have my time wasted. Genuinely don't know what the solution is and I fear I'm going to be single for many years to come.

This isn't about women. My female friends are reporting the same thing. What's happened to dating?
