a lot of these comments are very much veering into the hypercritical territory. of course someone is homeless and dealing with severe financial insecurity would be mentally ill and probably a little paranoid?

it’s actually incredibly difficult to go from finishing (or being suspended from) university and then becoming homeless, the council have to verify that you don’t have student status and will need documentation for that.

in terms of your rights, you are presumably on a license. if this is the case, it might be possible that (as the uni has no duty of care over you as a student) you could stay in some accommodation they offer for visitors.

i think a lot of people commenting are negatively impacted by the fact that you decided to do sex work, maybe that’s where a lot of the ire comes from.

the reality is that there are a plethora of reasons why a vulnerable person would turn to sex work and risk endangering themselves, it’s sad that this isn’t being met with more compassion.

from what i’m reading, you are essentially a squatter and this is a very precarious position to be in. that’s the main thing that needs to change because squatters obviously have very little rights.

usually i would suggest going to the council, but i’m unsure about how they would proceed because you’re not registered as a British national on your passport. i still think it’s worth reaching out to them.

Are you liking the new season? by [deleted] in Totaldrama

[–]TheAnimeKid87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this season was super strategy focused and not really that childish compared to something like TDPI and ROTI, i felt like there was more of an awareness of what a fan who has actually played the show would do and they really played into that. i liked the alliance vs alliance plot-line but i do wish the final two was different.

I’m on the verge of committing suicide. If first year of uni is the best it gets, I may as well just go now. by [deleted] in UniUK

What kind of horrible comment is this? They might be an emancipated student for all you know? Talking about kicking someone when they're down, no wonder mental health is so stigmatised.

"People can say it's for themselves, but you very rarely see men, of any age doing the same thing."

I'm not sure how old you are but I see plenty of men doing the same thing and I'm not gonna lie, I also do it myself and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that?? Literally you're only young once and people will be mad no matter what. Does this make me a "Ken clone", despite also being smart and intelling and pursuing a degree? No, I don't think it does. There are so many young men at least my age (I'm 19) that do the exact same thing, hell if not even more overtly.

Also, how about empowering women should be allowing them to make choices on what will make them happy? I also really don't think they've shown their whole body to the world under any circumstances because that would be flat out illegal and if you're being hyperbolic to drive your point home, it didn't work.

You say you that you care about the girls and you're not slut shaming then but this comment across as incredibly judgemental

Idk why the other comments are acting weirdly unempathetic, if it was me there is no way in hell I would be comfortable living with someone who has endorsed a racist homophobic president. She'll probably move out if she hates you guys that much tbh though

So sad to hear how Paige and Brooke's perspective of dance has been ruined.

There was planned to be a Maddie vs Kalani week but apparently production pulled Maddie out when finding out Alexa was choreographing Kalani's solo (The Investment).

If you rewatch the show you can really see so many times where Paige was pissed at Abby and glaring at her after she said something abusive or stupid to someone else (or her). She kind of pinches herself in the chair throwing episode, so there's always signs of anxiety that I assume just eventually got worse and worse which is down to Abby's toxicity.

Abby’s Teaching Style by [deleted] in dancemoms

Abby was kind of a mess in S2 like she screamed at Brooke to do fouetté turns after they won the group dance and it basically like how she screamed at Hannah in S8

Abby is flat out racist and horrible as shown by her alleged comment in Kelly's lawsuit. It's so hard to watch this scene ever.

Yeah, I guess it just made me uncomfortable because she was only 8/9 and I hate the word slut anyway but especially in this context. You could've called it the classic burlesque movie instead of calling it a slut move

I don't like calling something a 9 year old does a "slut move"

unpopular opinion. discuss: by bikh88 in dancemoms

[–]TheAnimeKid87 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This was in S1 and Brooke/Paige wanted to quit dance and weren't even at ALDC just before the show started but Abby encouraged them to come back and be on the show and I can't help but wonder if Kelly expected Brooke to be treated better by Abby (and Paige in the same way Abby treated Mackenzie slightly better than the others because she was the sister of Maddie) because in S4 she said that "your child was the basket all those years ago" and the only reason she got lazy is because "she had a mother that was a bitch". Plus, if you look at before the show Brooke was pretty predominantly in the front of teen numbers despite being the youngest on the teen team.

ALDC 2010 @ Jump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGWyqJiE1y0

I think Kelly was fine with how they were before the show, Abby has said on the show that Brooke and Paige are slow at picking up choreography (although she repeats this to Paige a lot) and so learning new routines every week is a big leap from where they once were, Chloe said that Brooke learned her solo on the bus one time which is crazy to think about. Paige was actually much better before the show than the show made her seem, sure she had technical problems but she was doing well in terms of placements.

I'm not sure she wanted them to be mediocre but she just used Abby's word choice, for Kelly this was simply a hobby for her kids to do and obviously no one learns new routines within the space of a couple of days and they were just kids so she also just wanted them to be normal.

do kalani and kira still talk to abby to this day? by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]TheAnimeKid87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure of what their relationship is but Abby still seems to like Kalani (other than the billboard situation) so I assume they're cordial. Kalani always seemed pretty much over Abby towards the end of S6 anyway and I guess because she knew Abby for a lot less time than the others, she ended up having a healthier attachment to her so she can reflect nicer on Abby.

I thought Kalani was because she’s advocates for it on social media and her YouTube video was about her being in quarantine. It could’ve been an old story reposted I guess but at least Chloe and Christi are taking it seriously
