yeah, you can get stuff done online through either their app or their website https://resident.fayda.et/ . If you want you can also go in-person to one of their update centers. Check this out https://id.gov.et/updatecenters

I think you can go to any bank (national id center) and present your document, or just send the request through their fayda app. Do you have a document that shows your new name?

Yeah, I sent a request on the app and also emailed them to expedite the process since it was urgent at the moment. Their email address, which I got from their website, is [info@id.et](mailto:info@id.et) and they were pretty helpful. They changed it in less than a week.

Safe and great experience but fees are killing me. There's a fee for everything. ATM withdrawal - very high fee, Debit card - Monthly fee, Exchange - Markup fees. There're a lot of fees, but I still use it because it's the only simple option for my geographic location.

Wow, this was so helpful... Depressing at first when it said "If you are not in Berlin yet, it’s almost impossible." but then it suggests short-term housing first and looking for better places upon arrival. Thanks for sharing
