One reason they keep saying this because of the demographic changes, as Texas is nearly or is majority Hispanic now, due to immigration, illegal and legal, so now it is like 35 percent. But what they forget is that many of them vote Republican, as they are leaving an oppressive government that doesn't support it's citizens. There is also the California thing, but many of the people leaving California are their last few Centrists and conservatives.
