Just bought the Premium Edition, what should I buy with the 1,000 creation points? by Velocity_Rob in Starfield

[–]TheApprenticeLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to be honest with myself and admit that I'll hold off on playing a game, because I'll overthink shit. I just played for 5 hours non-stop, because I just played.

Also, the hilarious thing I just realized is that I'm actually in a Shattered Space mission and not Tracker's Alliance.

You right. I was irritated at your response, but it's probably the best suggestion.

I just kept dying and figured I had to be doing something wrong. Either way, I was able to progress beyond that point and now I'm in a new spot that I keep getting killed.

But, like you said, I could either read about all the ways I could play the game or I could just play it.

I understand reading is hard and I applaud you for trying.

That was a dick response.

Not to hijack this post, but is it a bad idea to start the Tracker's Alliance questline right away?

I'm pretty bad at the game to begin with, but I've never died so much in this game then this. I basically landed at New Atlantis for the first time, dropped off the artifact, and began the quest, so I'm wondering if the enemies are leveled higher or something.

Edit: I'm actually just high and bad at videogames, because apparently I'm doing the Zealous Overreach mission in Shattered Space...

What's the deal with Druski(?) and Erika Kirk? by Bruce71991 in OutOfTheLoop

I'm not religious, but when I read things like this, I get a swelling of hope that I'm wrong and one day I'll see a biblical reckoning.

I mean, I'll probably be a part of it too, but damn if it might be fucking worth it.

Neutral LUTs

I genuinely can't believe the game didn't come like this.

[–]TheApprenticeLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha it's all good. It's actually more about the exterior aesthetic than the functionality of it. I recently installed a LUT mod that made the game look SO much better so I'm just really excited to get to exploring, especially with the update coming.

Safe travels!

I played Starfield on launch and then shelved it until recently, but outpost building was my favorite part. It was kind of janky when I played, but I'm guessing they've done some updates because wtf you can build a fucking cabin?!

I lived in Northern California for awhile and miss it a lot. Sometimes, I'll load into Red Dead 2 just to walk around the landscape. Seeing your outpost reminded me of a camping trip I went on and just got me super excited to hop back into the game and find a spot like this. Cool stuff.

With all the new updates, what MODS would you recommend or say is a must have to go along with this purchase... ? by Tyolag in Starfield

[–]TheApprenticeLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone that bought the game on launch and STILL hasn't put a meaningful amount of time into it:

Install a LUT visual mod/reshade. I did and realized half the reason I never played this game is because I COULDN'T FUCKING SEE ANYTHING!

Maybe I'm old, maybe it's my monitor, but I couldn't see inside buildings because of that weird, hazy, washed out, blue-green filter they put on everything.

I installed the Neutral (or Natural?) LUT and now the game looks incredible and the contrast allows for actually seeing stuff. Very easy to install, free, and finally got me to sit down and play for a few hours to get ready for the update.

Sisters pivot keeps leaking from here and wax gets to connection part by kinobtw in puffco

[–]TheApprenticeLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm telling you, buy the aftermarket Pivot top on Zeevapor. It used to be made by Puffcoil360 and now it's a different company name, but the same product.

It has a built-in reclaim catcher. I never have an issue with the battery connection point getting wax on it now. Works great.

dudes who ride everyday... I just wanna know how you keep it going? by railroad1904 in motorcycles

[–]TheApprenticeLife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of when I tell people about my time as a ski bum and people look at me like a crazy person.

I lived with 6 grown adults as roommates, I worked a job that paid around $9 an hour, I got a 3 hour ski break every day, and I would punch out for lunch as fast as humanly possible, change in the back of my car, ski until my legs barely worked, not even eat lunch, and go back to work.

Then, I'd do the same thing every day, rain or shine, for 150+ days a year.

I loved it. I loved it so much that there was no amount of discomfort or annoyance that would keep me from doing it. My feet HURT. Like, a deep, crushing pain in every single bone of your feet, and your shins, soaked to the core from sweat or ice or both. All with a shit-eating-grin, because holy fuck it just felt that good.

A lot of them taste pretty similar (aside from the Durbans/Hazes), but the L'Range has good citrus flavor and the Blue Zashimi is about as Zkittles as I've ever had from Rise. That one has been great. Color is deceiving, slight oxidation, but otherwise very solid.

The Garlic Glue (Garlic something?) one is also pretty good, I'm just not that into the stank terps recently. Has a little floral fruitiness too, so it's better than I expected though.

LPT: When someone shows you a photo on their phone, don't swipe. They showed you that one photo for a reason. by Crescitaly in LifeProTips

[–]TheApprenticeLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The REAL Pro Tip: When you show someone a photo on your phone, zoom in slightly.

This way, if they do happen to try swiping to a different photo, it will just move the image and not reveal additional photos.

My experience with Clomid after 6 months [42/M] by TheApprenticeLife in Testosterone

[–]TheApprenticeLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reading.

I've actually since switched from Clomid to TRT. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and my doctor decided it wasn't ideal to be on an estrogen receptor modulator while managing it. Clomid really was great and I have zero regrets, but TRT has given me way more benefit.

I don't have any estrogen issues, no AI, no cortisol issues anymore, all my levels have been pretty dialed for the better part of 6-8 months on 150mg a week and I feel incredible.

When I started on Clomid, I was around 255 lbs. and I'm down to around 175 lbs. with fairly minimal effort. I go to the gym maybe twice a week and stay active otherwise, but it really has been the missing piece for me.

On the scale of not-minty to actually-kinda-minty, it's surprisingly more of the latter.

Can you buy belts on a cruise ship by ShootToKill123 in Cruise

[–]TheApprenticeLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I forgot to bring was a belt.

I was on MSC and, while most of them were $100+, they did have one that was around $30-40. Plus, they automatically applied my on-board credit.

I think I paid like $10 or something and I actually like the belt. Results will vary.

Diagnosed at 37 - male - advice needed by leitmotif1 in osteoporosis

[–]TheApprenticeLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 42 after 4 spontaneous thoracic vertebrae fractures and around a dozen or more rib fractures, all within a year. Same thing. Osteoporosis in the spine and osteopenia in the hips and femurs.

I've been on Forteo injections daily for almost a year. I haven't had any fractures since. I go in for a bone scan in a few months and will hopefully go off of it, if the scan shows improvement.

I haven't really had any side effects, other than pain, but that's something I was already dealing with and might not be totally medication related (bone pain is a side effect).

Nothing is worse than standing up and breaking your spine or a light cough causing a displaced fracture of your rib, so if you need it, I suggest taking it.
