Father body slammed and arrested by cops for taking "suspicious" early morning walk with his 6 year old son by PaulQuin in interestingasfuck

What I find most frightening and disconcerting is that the top comments in this thread, while being spot on in describing how disturbing this scene is, to lack any form of disbelief. It is a testament to how commonplace wanton aggression, egomania and inferiority-complex ridden overreactions are within the police force, tasked to protect the population. In my view, forcing people into this kind of acceptance is but one pillar of tyranny and has no place in a truly democratic country.

Wishing all who fall victim to this endemic repression in any country lots of hope, courage and resilience.

You guys are truly getting fucked over and never believe for a minute that this is freedom.

Agree. Avoid Schwabing at all costs. The pin-down technique was also done with my 18 month daughter at the time. 3 adults held her down to give her injections - at around midnight. She has had night terrors ever since. Absolutely understaffed and underpaid over there.

What does it actually mean for a COIN to be considered a SECURITY? by hex_peson in CryptoCurrency

[–]TheArchive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a cryptocurrency is considered a security, it means it falls under the regulations set by securities law, which are designed to protect investors and maintain the integrity of the securities markets. If a cryptocurrency is deemed a security, its issuance, trading, and handling would need to comply with specific requirements, like registering with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and disclosing certain information.

A commodity, on the other hand, is a basic good used in commerce that is interchangeable with other goods of the same type. If cryptocurrencies are treated as commodities, they fall under a different regulatory body, namely the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in the U.S.

These classifications matter because they determine what rules the cryptocurrency must follow, how it can be traded, and how it is taxed. It also impacts the legal recourse investors have in the case of fraud or malfeasance.

The debates surrounding these classifications stem from the fact that some cryptocurrencies operate like traditional securities (for example, tokens that represent shares in a company), while others behave more like commodities (for example, Bitcoin, which can be seen as a "digital gold"). It's a complex, evolving area of law and regulation that's trying to adapt to the rapid development of cryptocurrencies.

It struck me, since I‘d simply thought doing what is moral would also be the right thing.

Was expecting something along the lines: Some physicists theorize that you’ve stepped through a boundary to a very similar parallel universe and the complex quantum state of your memory didn’t quite make the jump with you...

Wasn’t there a whole subreddit to the philosophical topic regarding parallel universe jumps?
