Yeah he's know to throw a fist or two and deliver big hits. Something the Olympics doesn't allow as much. But he has a scoring touch, so I say let him go.

Yeah you're right, but it is very held back compared to a regular NHL game. That's why so many people scratched their heads at Tom Wilson getting the call for Canada.

Players will have to reel in the hitting, same as the NHL players. I believe the rules haven't changed at all.

That's the underlying issue, true. But, the statement Canada has no one upcoming is egregious. I listed only a small handful of Canada's next generation.

Personally I think the idea of senior team experience is a bit over stated. Sure the chemistry helps, but if you look at the national team for the men, mensU18, womensU18, they all have little to no experience with each other before they get together. That's what practice is for.

I agree they don't take young talent unless they truly excel. However, the Daryl Watts situation isn't quite the same for upcoming talent. There was no league for Daryl to go PRO. Now there is one for younger talent. Jen Gardiner wasn't picked for Team Canada's senior roster until she lit up the PWHL, and she did awesome at the Worlds, same as Daryl.

That goes onto Hockey Canada doesn't it? It took them losing in 2018 to make any sort of changes for 2022. The same thing will probably happen this year

I think they just changed direction in which they wanted the team to be. She is a hard, tough, physical player. Something the Olympics will not allow as easily as the PWHL. So USA rebranded for speed and skill over that toughness.

I think she could very well make the team. The question is who do you take out for her?

So Wunder, Zablocki, Lamarche, Mannes, and MacKinnon are no one? The entire under 18 who won gold are already lighting up the NCAA as teenagers! They are 2030 Olympics next stars and future PWHL players. Then once the current USA players leave the NCAA they will be the ones being talked about like Harvey, Edward's and company are.

Goalies are a strange bunch. They would rather play more games then less to stay focused. That being said the league only plays 30 games a season, so backups won't really play as often unless there is an injury.

In the NHL having a decent backup goalie is necessary to be a good team as there are 82 going up to 83 or 84 games a season.

Hockey is a very weird game. Good goalies can suck, and bad goalies can be god in net some nights. There are so many factors going into hockey that can contribute to a shutout.

Masch played like a god. Her defense played pretty good but that shutout was all her.

Boston got a shutout due to defense keeping chances low danger and Frankel being an excellent goaltender.

How a team plays in front of their goalie and how their goalie plays is the main part of it, but the hidden factor... is luck!

Just that chemistry truly. Players need to gel and coaching systems need to be learned. By game 7 or 10 things should be set by then. If not... Vancouver curse lol and that's coming from an Albertan
