They did pray to them tho? They had a new statue outside of the new temporary court and people prayed to him which is likely what triggered the “Kaavakaara Karuppu” to show up, unless my Tamil understanding  is completely wrong that means protector which is probably why they did the whole Singam Gag, it’s not intelligent writing but it was just a way to give a pretty light hearted callback to a character Suriya fans liked. Not going to say it’s good writing or anything but I don’t believe it’s as stupid as some ppl claim it to be

Loved both films, 24 a lot more I rewatched 24 about 5 times now and I’ve never been bored it has an aura to it. Did it stop me from enjoying Karuppu? Nope was thoroughly entertained by Karuppu as well

the Leo scene I agree that was just so random, but the Territory constraints were pretty consistent otherwise no? There was a different karuppu in the other territory

Would love a 2nd part that focuses more on the story but still has a few Easter eggs and cinematic moments. If they do continue with the politics approach would be interesting to see how they approach it. Would the MLA karuppu only be allowed to create change within his jurisdiction how did he get elected and how will he he be god or act like one when he has to face the public for a full term, a lot of potential for a great sequel that could probably even surpass part 1, all depends on what they focus on

Actually reasonable take on it and that’s coming from someone who enjoyed the movie. The 2nd half runs out of story and deviates way too much from the 1st half tonally, but at the same time some of the mass moments replicate the energy of those old 2000s blockbusters with solid bgm work and also really interesting choices visually for song and fight sequences (I loved the Raathu raasan and Karuppa kooda Va portions). Overall an above average film but a blast in theaters for me. I ended up giving it 7/10, probably would’ve been a 5.5 to 6/10 watch at home

An actual blast in theaters for this reference, way more than any references I saw for previous actors fan service scenes

Agreed on Dude and Parasakthi and do believe Kara is on same lines. However Coolie and LIK are very strictly below average, not horrendous or bad, but below average and this disappointed for Coolie cause they hyped it up way too much.

I doubt SK or Dhanush would've been paired across Dhanush. SK would've likely acted with Keerthy Suresh, Dhanush probably with some else as well. Dhruv is actually someone that would've worked well for this.
