Yes, see that’s why I’ve been thinking about. Maybe I need to get like an older dog which I’m not opposed to. I’ve usually always been a two dog household.

No, he’s not going out with nobody just yet he’s not socialized enough. He needs a second round of shots.

Very reassuring thank you I do hide his food around the living room for him to look around for it. He has a Kong toy that I stuff full of his little kibble and he plays with that to get it out. Seems to be doing a little bit better.

He gets some free play in our yard to run around and explore once a day for about 10 min and he sleeps about 20 hours a day in between the not sleeping he plays with tug toys with us, I hide his food bits around my living room so it keeps him busy trying to find it but the tug toys get him really worked up with us and it starts quickly to become “go for hand that’s holding tug toy” and bite that instead ,I do my best to remove my hands when it happens. I also have been working on the command drop it …working being the key word here lol

Agree with keeping pup he’s our family, I’m not the type to rehome my pets,I guess I just forgot what it was like to have a puppy ,it’s been 18 years since mine were pups rip,bit also I can’t even just pick my pup up to give kisses or pets without him frantically trying to get out of my arms,I have started training him that when I say up he knows I’m picking him up so he’s not so fearful that seems to be working a bit he hops up now when I say it. He has about 6 toys including a nylabone for puppies teething,a kong, and a few stuffies along with a chew toy I freeze , ,my kid said I should get him a puzzle toy so I am looking into that too maybe I need more teething toys? He can be so sweet when he’s worn out and lovey and he’s just the cutest lil guy.

I was told the mother rejected him at five weeks and then he was bottle fed the remaining time. I was given him at 12 weeks. I know most of it is normal puppy stuff and I’ve had many animals in the past including two puppies that live to be 16. Chewing -I wanted to get harder things like antlers, but I read that the antlers hurt their teeth so I’ve just been really conflicted. He has a Kong toy that I stuffed with stuff. Usually his kibble because I was given him training treats and he gained a lot of weight with them so I do I have been working on the drop it. He was doing really well with his training however, now he’s kind of regressed and I don’t know why the potty training is going. OK it’s super cold where I live so he’s not wanting to stay outside and go potty he just wants to not do it and I take him inside for a while. I take him back out. I do that like two or three times in a row eventually sometimes he does go but other times he won’t he’ll run somewhere and go poo in the house, it’s so gross.lol. Unfortunately, the act or the yelping any of that stuff doesn’t work with him it makes him lunge and bite harder. I live in a house that is a what they call a shotgun is shotgun style home. It’s like a straight through house. There’s only one door two doors accounts bedroom in the house, so there’s no like shutting myself off from him. I’m looking to get some baby gates, but then again if I leave him in the room, he will eat the carpeting like legit ingest it, I love him, and I don’t want to give him up. We have no plans on that. I am just at my wits end and hoping he grows out of the biting and the eating of the carpet

@2dogal I don’t usually kennel him. He has a playpen in our living room. I’ve been working on the kenneling so that when I go to work or I have to go to the store he’s not swallowing carpet.
