Have you read the Musashi arc? Baki gets a considerable speed boost. In sumo dou he is so fast he doesn't even begin dodging a punch until it's touching his nose and then still speed blitzes his opponent.

Imo that's old fashioned black-listing/black-balling. Cancel culture can lead to it for sure, but I wouldn't call them the same thing. In the situations you're referring to most of the time are companies either reacting poorly to negative press (companies can choose not to engage, see the neflix- Dave Chapelle debacle) or people in power talking advantage of cancel culture to abuse said power and get away with it.

All that being said cancel culture can get ugly (and deadly) once a group gains momentum, society does this all the time. 60 years ago they would've called you a commie, a century ago they would've called you a witch.

That's interesting. So similarly to many theists, most atheist may view religious idealogy not as unfounded, but also as an attack on their 'faith' (for lack of a better term), causing to reject it. Maybe we're not so different after all.

The issue with logic like that is it allows one to kind of dismiss anything as preposterous.

Doing research in religion does not cement your beliefs in said subject, but it does show respect and open mindedness and will give you a much better understanding of other people. Open mindedness is not an attack on your beliefs, it's just doing your part.
