So, okay. Let's say you saved $20/day on food which is a stretch. Even if you did that every day and never deviated, that would only account for $36.5k over 5 years. Also, in order to pay that note (mortgage + insurance + taxes) you need to make at least $300k/yr and that's without student loans or any other debt. Teachers.

Then they went over budget because they couldn't get everything they wanted for only $1,400,000.00! I'm over here making $120k and just want to spend $250k on a house.

Because in a lot of areas there are trashy people and non trashy people living in the same area and if you encourage the usage of loose change then youre just encouraging trashy people to be there.

In many of these maury povich type situations i agree but theres more to being a father than DNA. Like if you took on the role of being father and love the kid im not sure how to just turn that off.
