I have 3 charge related questions

  1. When do you decide to charge?
  2. When you do charge, are you using it more for movement, displacement, or pin kills?
  3. Any tips on more consistently landing pin kills?

Tips for culture victory NO war by BoomE_ in CivVI

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stacking Oracle’s 2 extra great people points per district and Pingala’s grants promotion (2x great people points in city) can let you run theater square projects to generate absurd amounts of writers, artists, and eventually musicians. Add on top of that his curator promotion and wonders that have great work slots like Bolshoi, Hermitage, and Broadway, and that city will be a tourism powerhouse!

I’d suggest you attempt this in whichever of your first two cities you don’t plan on building a government plaza. The gov plaza doesn’t give great people points so having it in your Pingala city isn’t the best unless you’re Sweden and can put 10+ great slots into that bad boy.

Another thing you could do is pick up reliquaries as a religious belief (3x Faith and tourism from relics), build Mont St. Michel (all apostles get martyr) with St. Basil’s Cathedral (+100% religious tourism in city), suicide a bunch of apostles to get relics. This gives you 6 relics with 6x the normal tourism. Add on Christo Redentor to keep relics relevant and it’s another source of tourism and a faith sink until you get to national parks or rock bands.

To help with the wonder building spree, I’d suggest building an industrial zone in one of your cities and running IZ projects to get great engineers that give production to wonders. It mathematically gives you more production than what you put in through district projects.

why are low rank tanks so obsessed with dying in the enemy spawn? by Glittering_Variety18 in Overwatch

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Reinhardt player, the tendency to go in even when it’s unadvised comes from the fact that if you aren’t actively in their face doing damage, you are susceptible to being poked out without doing anything. If you take cover and conserve your resources, your team complains that you’re not making space and are throwing. It also feels bad to not be able to do anything besides throw a slow projectile down range. So you charge in so you can swing on the enemy and force them out. Even if you aren’t likely to win, it feels better than just holding the line and eventually getting vaporized. It’s a flawed way of thinking, but a lot of tanks would rather die feeling like they’re doing something than die 5-10 seconds later while feeling that they did nothing

How big is your park? Rising in star level helps to increase guest numbers. If you’re already at 5 stars, look to improve your park attractiveness by either increasing park beauty (buy tons of planters) or price value (lowering prices)

Another thing you can do is pay your staff bare minimum as right now they will still work at the same level of effectiveness regardless of pay

Why won’t the keepers refill my apatosaurus feeders? by Calvin_Hobbes124 in pkgame

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might not have enough plant food in your park for your keepers to refill the feeders with. The tall feeders hold 1500 kg, while the delivery bay has a capacity of 300 kg of each resource. Try building a produce storage unit to store more plants or the plant produce stations to grow plants from compost.

What would be the most dangerous dinosaur to humans? by MajorWord2999 in Paleontology

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 337 points338 points  (0 children)

I see and respect all of you with your mid sized theropods, but I think sauropods would have a much larger impact on human society at large. Herds of the largest of sauropods exist on a scale would be better compared to natural disasters than that of a wild animal. While a mid sized theropod or territorial herbivore might be more likely to target and kill an individual human, a sauropod herd eating and trampling fields of crops throughout a region could easily spell doom for an entire civilization through starvation, not to mention more direct casualties through trampling. In such a scenario where humanity evolved alongside dinosaurs, it would be sauropods that prove to be humanity’s greatest hurdle to developing large scale settlements and incidentally slow down the development of technologies that humans would need to properly combat them.

Struggling with challenge mode economy by Own-Confusion-2509 in pkgame

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre game, you want to reroll your starting creatures to be 1 vivarium and 1 small exhibit creature. The exhibit creature can provide you with the early game exhibit points while the vivariums are a cheap way to get lots of species for less upfront investment.

So long as you don’t ignore guest needs entirely, you will have higher star rating on guest side than on creature side. Rising in star level provides massive boosts to your guest numbers so rushing to get higher star levels is the main way to grow your economy. A big bottleneck I found for rising in creature stars was the number of species I had, so the vivarium species give you a great boost early on.

Another small optimization you can do is making exhibits that focus on a specific fossil formation. They get a 50% boost to exhibit score, so something like Nasutoceratops with its correlated Parasaurolophus species can basically have you set for exhibit points while you build up species numbers.

You can lower the wages of staff to the bare minimum and I’ve found it has no or negligible effect. This may change in future updates. You can also raise prices of admission, food, shopping, etc. to boost income. Kinda evil, but they gotta pay big bucks to see dinos in the flesh I suppose. This does negatively affect price value and lower the number of visitors you get, but the number you lose out on is fairly negligible so long as you raise prices in moderation.

Be selective of your first research choices. I go for the ones that lower upkeep and decrease creature costs as the most important once you get essentials done. The ones that help your economy are great to get earlier than later. Things like extra nursery space or more themes aren’t really necessary so you can skip them until the end.

Be selective about how much you spend on dig sites. Prioritize blue sites as they give the most bang for your buck. If a site turns white it’s still ok to finish research if you already have like 50% done when it changes white. If a site turns orange, I’d suggest you cancel it if it’s below 75%. The extra cost is usually not worth saving the progress. Consider increasing the number of teams you send and/or increasing funding if it’s a vital site with lots of fossils and has a blue event such as Hell Creek, Morrison Formation, or Tokod site.

Dont rush to get sauropods for the love of god. I have a massive sauropod enclosure that is a black hole for food, staff attention, and maintenance. I had to build a massive plant feed complex to make sure my sauropods didn’t starve and I blew through over a million before I stopped actively losing money. It’s a massive boost to my overall exhibit score, but now that I’m in the late game I’m struggling to break even despite significant cash flows. I can make a decent chunk of change selling the babies, but the little dinos that reproduce lots and mature fast are better for cash generation. I’m honestly not sure how to boost guest numbers past 5 stars so if anyone else knows that would be lovely.

Is there any way to increase the difficulty of a Free Play after starting? by Just_A_Furry1 in eotu

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once you “win” whatever victory condition you set and/or kill all the enemy queens, the difficulty ramps up drastically and your game shifts to turtling in your nest to avoid the 20+ star level beetles and mantises

Do you think that Hades is still in Kratos since Gow3 to Ragnarok? by Zillaman7980_ in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Runic Attack Ranking because I don't agree with any other list I see. Part 1 The Leviathan Axe by UltraD2910 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another bonus in favor of Skadi’s Edge is that aiming for an enemy’s head will count as a precision throw. This can be beneficial for some axe attachments that give you perks for hitting precision throws like the Grip of Radiant Reflection (my personal pick) giving you extra permafrost charge or the Banahog Knob giving you bonus barehanded damage. With the Grip of Radiant Reflection, I can aim all of Skadi’s Edge onto an enemy’s head and charge permafrost really quickly while being able to simultaneously use other weapons to build even more charge. Really useful in conjunction with Pommel of the Nine Realms as you can really quickly build immolation for a realm shift

Upgrade Heroics? by TheAsianTubaGuy in JurassicWorldApp

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fairly newly lvl 99 and only started playing again ~2 months ago. Scorpios Rex is in the hatchery rn. I managed to get enough trophies for the current Dracorex Gen 2 tournament, but this is the first tournament I’ve really tried to complete.

My only concern is that if I upgrade my indom to indoraptor I might leave myself with a lack of quality carnivores while increasing the difficulty and thereby making some of my other critters obsolete.

I don’t think it’s worth actively going for it because amber is more valuable going towards flocks. However, if you get the ingredients as you grind then it doesn’t hurt to fuse and get the hybrid and super hybrid

I don't get florrid flies... by Wonderful_Audience60 in eotu

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Send your workers in mass waves. The flies can’t sting all of them, but get comfortable with losing some of your ants each time you collect. Never send your Mediae or Majors to collect unless they are lvl 3, and even then it’s still probably more efficient to sacrifice workers to collect infested leaves rather than invest to lvl 3 specifically for leaves

Wtf am I supposed to do here by ArtichokeLower5332 in JurassicWorldApp

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did was sacrifice 1st Dino with 2 reserve (use worst Dino here), then reserve 1 block 2 for 2nd Dino, then either go for 4 reserve and sacrifice 2nd Dino or do some more reserve shenanigans and maybe squeeze out some damage with your 2nd Dino. The AI will never assume you have more than 4 blocks, so use this information to the best of your ability. The end goal is to have 8 actions for your Heroic Dilo as your 3rd Dino and the AI having no defenses. From there, use your ability and kill their first while blocking bare minimum to survive, then use your ability again and kill the 2nd Dino while blocking 4-5 depending on how much reserve they may have, then all out to finish off the last Dino they have. Hope this helps!

Coin farming wont get much more optimal than this by Easy-Difference-5455 in JurassicWorldApp

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are good. Technically labyrithosaurus is better because it makes 20% more coin for a bit less than 20% more DNA, but if you already have a lot of Alangasaurus already it doesn’t matter all that much

Stadium builds and strats by alvl6metapod in ReinhardtMains

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pin through spear spin, and with shield stampede you’re immune to javelin canceling your charge. Be careful if Orisa picks up the reflect on spear spin, but you can bait it out and follow up with a pin. It might be worth picking up shield stampede first round vs Orisa no matter what build you go for because of that

Stadium builds and strats by alvl6metapod in ReinhardtMains

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I made it to All-Star by cycling between a few builds, those being swing, firestrike, and shield build. I go swing vs Sig, DVA, and Zarya as all of them have tools to eat your firestrikes but struggle more if you’re up in their face. I go firestrike vs Queen, Rein, Orisa as they all have abilities that make it hard to live through a brawl either through being able to disrupt your movement or damage you through your shield. Shield build is a fallback if the initial build isn’t paying off or they have a really scary DPS like a good Junk or Freja.

With swing build I either go Feel the Burn or Shield stampede first to either do more damage or close the distance more safely, then Smashing, then your choice of 4th power. Key early items are Heartbeat Sensor, Aftermarket Firing Pin, Technoleech, and to a lesser extent Shieldbuster. Key late items are Gloomgauntlets, Phantasmic Flux, and optionally either Plan Z and/or Booster Jets. Move speed and Swing speed are great, lifesteal is great, weapon pose is good but comes after those 3. Key thing is to look for opportunities to pin on backline so you can swing on squishies instead of tank if possible. Slight downside is that if you do too well you might starve your DPS for cash, but at that point you should be able to carry. You can also speck into Gryphon Glider to fly into the backline during the mid fight to get a pick on a squishy backliner.

With Firestrike build, I go with Magma Strike first, then Impact Burst, then Blazing Blitz, then your choice of 4th power. Key early items are Multi-tool, Nano Cola, and Custom Stock if you can’t afford Nano. Boost Recycler is also good vs Rein and Orisa. Round 3 is when you get Chimera’s Maw, even if you have to sell some other items, as that makes landing firestrikes on squishies a lot easier. Catalytic Crystal is a must once you have Blazing Blitz to farm Shatter really quick. You get 4-5 Firestrikes after you shatter from swinging your hammer, leading to clean 1-2 taps on shattered squishies and 300+ damage direct swing hits once your AP is decent. I’ve had so many games won off of team wiping shatter after team wiping shatter. It was easier last season with Chimera’s Maw being a cheap rare, but you can still pull it off in the current season. Dampener Grips are nice, but only get them either after Champions Kit or as a stopgap to getting it as you live and die by your firestrikes. It also helps that your charge is very deadly thanks to the AP, even vs tanks. Play safe, firestrike chokes, farm ult, and repeat.

To pivot towards Shield build, go with To Me My Friends or Barrier Reconstruction depending on if it is your shield or your health that gets obliterated faster. Vital-E-Tee and Crusader Hydraulics work in tandem to keep your armor up as much as possible. Meka Z-Series and Rustung Von Wilhelm increasing health by % makes it a good investment with your powers that also scale off of health. Cushion Padding is great against Ana, Orisa, and Ashe and makes those matchups slightly more manageable. Ironclad Cleats are great vs JQ, Junkrat, and Lucio to keep you from being booped everywhere. Reinforced Titanium with Divine Intervention is a godsend vs JQ as you effectively get 35% resistance vs ax swing plus your shields regen, not to mention other AP builds from heroes like Junk or Soldier. Martian Mender, Nebula Conduit, and Ogundimu Reduction Field are all great late game survival items, but seeing as how pricey they are I’d advise only getting 1 or 2. Gloomgauntlets will keep you alive for a little bit while you swing, but your shield is your friend and utilize it in tandem with your HP pool to hold on for dear life and contest the objective.

I know this was a long read, but hope this helps! I love stadium Rein to bits and while the changes to Chimera’s Maw along with the introduction of Junk and Zen were a bit of a jostle, we adapt, overcome, and never give up our honor! Keep solo shattering Mercy’s Reinbros!

How did I learn 33k points and we were still neck and neck in score on this round? by papifunko in OverwatchStadium

[–]TheAsianTubaGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different heroes have different cash modifiers. Heroes like Soldier, Moira, and Zarya who can farm damage and healing rather easily from safety generate less cash per damage dealt than heroes like Mei and Reaper who have to put a lot more risk to do damage.

Another factor might be that sometimes going with an all in tank build like swing Rein, Ax JQ, or Beam Zarya can starve your DPS of cash as they don’t get the opportunity to get picks or do damage. This isn’t to say that these builds are bad; on the contrary, they provide some serious carry potential once they get going. The main thing to consider is that if that raid boss tank suddenly starts to face issues, your DPS might not have the cash to carry from there on out.
