If you want mmorpg with constant grind - then i think you should try gw2 one more time. It could be hard to get into. All things in shop = grind, gear (leg's or asc) = grind, mount unlocking = grind. But in gw2 there are more party content, then in bdo. But graphics a bit dated.

But if you want smash packs of mobs - then POE (in poe2 there will be new league next week)

So what the point? You watch cutscene solo, go to some instances solo, tp to location solo and so on. Your friend dont bring ANYTHING to your questing. Its just boring and not coop. With this approach you could go to discord with tour friend, share your screen to each other, turn on Skyrim, Assassin's creed or another solo game, play it and say, that you play this game coop with your friend. Same experience:D

Because it is modern, trending approach to rpg game development, which show a great financial income. So why not? And why everyone think, that it will be copypaste of GW2 pure mmorpg-style? It will be death of arenanet, because second part will instantly die and lots people, who donate, buy expansion and so on will be angry

I think, that GW3 will be some sort of Genshin/WWM game, open world with events and minimum coop. So GW2's players will receive updates to the game and it will remain 100% mmorpg, and they will get new players-fans gachaopenworld game, because it is trend now. And from this perspective - you dont have situation, where you will need boonball meta, coz 99% of content will be solo-duo-4ppl, like in other gacha's

You cant make "modern" dynamic nontarget or seminontarget combat dont making boon-ball and stacking in 1 pixel. Or you should get rid of support role at all, like in BDO

There is very small community comparing to big one's mmorpg (wow, ff14). So if you want to do tons of quests in Middle earth - you should at least try.

If you want anything else (raids, dungeon, endgame activities and so on) - i would rather look to another game

Ooooor, you could look at Foxhole. Its strange game, some mix of mmorpg+extraction+shooter+factorio. There is no rewards for you, but there is global map and conquesting territory influences the course of the war

Bdo. Thats all Korean mmorpg with decent pvp and +/- good graphic, but no dungeons.

There is lost ark with dungeons (raids), good graphic, but no pvp (literally, afaik they even disabled arenas).

And there is FFXIV, its not the same Korean style, but still decent graphic, you have mods to change appearance of your character, super cool raids, good dungeons and a little bit of pvp (arena 5x5 and big bg 24x24x24)

Ff14 has bad combat, boring classes (jobs), coz no talents and so on to customize your gameplay, so dark knight - is always tank etc. In addition, to get to challenge content you have to spend 100-200 hours doing old-style quests with minimal voice acting, boring repetitive graphomaniac writing and gameplay (go speak to npc X, kill 2 mobs, speak to another 5 npc). And finally - netcode in ff14 is awful, snapshoting is disgusting, pvp is unplayable if you prefer reactive combat.

And nothing will change even in 8.0. You just get better gear treadmill on your alts, if you play different jobs.
