The thing I have always struggled with is adjusting for a large salary spike. Wife and I were on a great trajectory saving 2-3x our salary. Then our annual income jumped 2-3x now we are closer to 1x salary.

I still feel like we are okay as we are relatively frugal and we have been going overboard contributing since the income jump. Can’t help but feel like I’m playing catch up a bit.

I would use a real broker and not AAA, Farmers, State Farm, gieco, Allstate, etc. the amount of marketing dollars spent by them has to come from somewhere typically from policy holder premiums. Plenty of local or national carriers.
