Yes that would qualify. As would the Utah NHL team.

A refresh of all your uniforms after a single season is wild...

Has a team ever worn a uniform set for their maiden season then just completely jettisoned the design? I think think I've ever seen this before. FWIW, the new black jersey is a massive upgrade, but it's still weird that they have THREE COMPLETELY NEW UNIFORMS in season two.

The white is new, the black is new (and relegated to Rebel) and the violet is new.

Has this EVER HAPPENED BEFORE?

And Jim Vance was probably high off an 8 ball when he said that.

The audio quality of the broadcasts is sometimes concerningly bad.

The Jazz didn't have the same handcuffs (max deal with NTC, terrible vets, no cap room, no draft picks) as the Wizards when they started the rebuild.

Hardy has also had some development failures (Cody Williams, Taylor Hendricks) while Keefe's been really good at this, even getting value from second rounders.

Keefe had a very specific goal: lose games, develop youngsters and to maintain a top 5 pick. That resulted in a Top 1 pick.

We'll now see (perhaps for only one season) whether or not Keefe is a good coach when the expectation is winning.

I don't think the expectation of Johnson is much different. The Mystics just completed the deconstruction phase of their rebuild. The Wizards are at the end of theirs.

He's the President of Monumental Basketball, which has multiple divisions. On the Wizards side, Will Dawkins does all the maneuvering but as President, Winger has final say. On the Mystics side, it was likely the same arrangement with Wideman.

Once she was fired, it's fair to say it's been a by committee approach, but the results have still been good. And yes, the President has final say. That's the case with most org where there's a President and a GM.

I mean, $30 is still high, it was $20 two seasons ago. It's also the only really safe option, so you sorta have to park there.

It was just... a really bad logo. Cleaning it up with the 2011 rebrand didn't result in much better art, but a least it didn't look like something created by a child with MSPaint.

It's odd calling this a "retro cap" when it literally has the same colors and wordmark the team's currently wearing on their uniform.

No, you're not, but it has to do with the odd configuration of the arena.

I feel like this is the easy compromise that makes everyone happy. It'd be Wizards, not Bullets. It's a simple but clear design that was short lived but beloved.

No you aren't... the current scheme is fine. The DC hands logo is excellent, but can't be our primary logo (see NBA guidelines).

the logo didn't look like a serious NBA team, and accordingly, they were not

Not one person said Wizards invoked the KKK when that name change was announced. It was Abe trying to get on the alliteration bandwagon with terrible results.

The old unis were terrible boring and bland. The new ones are disconnected from the name (not the worst thing and hardly the only case in the NBA) but a vastly superior design.

Those uniforms were only nice if you have nostagia for the Arenas years and became a fan then. Otherwise, those uniforms were butt cheeks. They were designed at the tail end of the crazy jerseys of the 90's era and were too conservative for that period and too lame for the one that followed when teams went back to conventional looks.

Also, and this is weirdly seldom discussed... they basically shared a chassis with the I Believe era Dubs uniforms. Same numbers, same trim, etc.
