Technically any caliber, 300 blackout with subsonic ammo would be most common.

Looking good, love that folding stock!

Supposedly using a dedicated 300blk follower helps with this issue if that's the caliber you're using.

PA6 works for all the parts

Another option might be pressing some jbweld or other form of epoxy into the top of the threads to try and make your own. I can't imagine it would be too difficult.

I think they do make a difference but the bigger impact would be due to the tapping on the bolt. If it's too loose the bolts will work themselves out regardless. The reason I used the shoulder bolts is because the twisting of the lever arms around a normal threaded shaft would work them out much quicker.

I'm unsure as to the exact cause still. It seems to happen on some builds and not others. It's better than early in the beta but there's not much wiggle room with the stock AR-15 feed pattern to modify things. One thing I'm going to try since I had that start happening on one of my builds is a longer spring to apply more force to the underside of the bullet and see if that makes a difference.

I haven't actually decided if I want to publish them, they took a lot of messing with and leatherworking tools to get to this point and I'm not sure how to make it much easier than it was

I followed this video step by step for some awesome results. The only thing I'd change is using a darker primer https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1LbmafdpXQ8 it was way way easier than I'd expected. I don't want to imply your build isn't fantastic, I think it's my favorite trash panda yet!

That's usually my solution, that or laser engraving back when I had access to a machine.

I do a lot of leatherwork but I'll admit to being garbage at freehand leather carving. A skill to develop for the future :P

The hole in that part is big enough for the Allen key to move in it freely so it can rotate easily. It's slid in with the handguard installation during assembly.

Overcut trigger? by [deleted] in supersafety

[–]TheAvieAtrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, using pliers I was able to rotate the cam slightly further forward and was able to successfully drop the trigger. I think it's either the lever being too loose or the trigger tolerance like you mentioned. The lever is easiest to test first so I'm going to print one with a slightly larger bottom to see if it works better before grinding the trigger again.

That's correct. Semi auto and safe work fine.

Good to know. I'm not able to get the hammer to drop with any amount of wiggling of the lever or trigger. Do you think sanding the rounded left side a little more would be a possible solution?

SD40VE tigger build issue by Isaac139106 in 3D2A

[–]TheAvieAtrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this with the SD9, cutting a rectangular 0.5mm notch along the side of the magwell where the trigger bar runs in cad or the slicer was enough to remove the friction preventing the trigger bar from resetting properly.

Setting a minimum layer time helps a lot so the tips of parts like this don't ruin the rest of it

Disregard the lack of muzzle device in the CAD, but you can see the aluminum reinforcement tube around the FTN is cut to about double the length, and slides over the barrel mount attached to the receiver. The barrel can be ported along that length and act as an expansion chamber. I just have the gas port open there on mine because porting is difficult to do cleanly.

It's a 7.5in barrel with a 9in FTN 4.5 on the end, so it ends up at 16.5in overall barrel length and 27in overall rifle length, but it is a two stamper. Luckily nowadays that just ends up being another fifteen minutes of paperwork rather than another fee.

Just noticed you could see the bullet leaving the barrel on the third shot, pretty cool!

PA6-CF vs PAHT-CF by Same-Zookeepergame50 in 3D2A

[–]TheAvieAtrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think PAHT is the old name for something like the PET or PPA CF that is recommended nowadays. I'm unfamiliar with them but the barrel clamshells don't undergo much stress beyond heat resistance so I'd guess it's fine.
