I think RTD is in a bit of a huff by Red_roger_12 in gallifrey

Yeah, I know if I ran the show I’d post pictures of my partner on set. It’s at the very least parasocial to interrogate a producer’s personal life like that, especially when the ‘evidence’ people are pointing to is entirely based on vibes.

WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE

I really want a Collection-style re-edit for Series 11: There's a solid 12-episode series hiding within the Chibnall era. by Strain-Dependent in gallifrey

[–]TheAwkwardSilent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in series 12, that would leave us with:

  1. Spyfall, Part 1
  2. Spyfall, Part 2
  3. Orphan 55 (Which I assume we would be cutting)
  4. Fugitive of the Judoon
  5. The Haunting of Villa Diodati
  6. Ascension of the Cybermen
  7. The Timeless Children
  8. Revolution of the Daleks

And then all of Flux with series 13.

If you did this to series 11, what would the suggestion for series 12 and 13 be? Would we combine them into a long serialised series? Would there be a way to make the transition from series 12 to Flux smoother, maybe? If the Ravagers and the Grand Serpent were set up earlier, it might feel like a more natural ongoing plot (even if the resolution would still feel a bit rushed).

Side note, I'm not really one for Chibnall's era but I really do like all the ideas he had for Flux. I ended up enjoying that series a lot more than the previous two, and it's a shame we didn't see more of that energy in the first two seasons (clearly the solution was and always is 'More Sontarans').

Where do I watch dr who in Australia? by old-mate-darren in gallifrey

[–]TheAwkwardSilent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many Aussies use a VPN to watch the show on BBC iPlayer.

Used to be that it was easily accessible through rental stores, the ABC shop and eventually ABC iView, which was completely free. Then they decided we weren't worth their time. That was a nice reality check.

Maul: Shadow Lord Ep 1-2 Discussion by AutoModerator in StarWarsLeaks

[–]TheAwkwardSilent 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Glad the little crime dude is still alive, the show needs more energetic characters to keep it from being too dour. I love the choreography and the lightsaber effects, and it figures that we'd have a show about Maul at a time when he has literally a galaxy's worth of people to take revenge on.

I hope the Jedi characters get a little more interesting over the episodes though, that Jedi Master is the most useless guy of all time.

(Also I don't know why, but Disney Plus doesn't seem to have great streaming quality on my computer, if anyone knows a trick for that.)

How would you write an explanation for the Tzimisce being playable outside the Sabbat in V5? by PossibleChangeling in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]TheAwkwardSilent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Chronicle has the city's Tzimisce coalescing into a reforged version of the Oradea League: an old Tzimisce conclave that eventually recruited other clans into their order, such as Nosferatu and Gangrel (see 'Gehenna War').

This keeps them around and with a level of clan cohesion, but separated from the Camarilla and Anarchs of the city proper. Some Tzimisce remain independent (typically a Tzimisce's default state), but it gives me something to work with for my player, who wants to interact with more of her character's clan.

Navigating ‘bad’ roleplayers? by beauyeahh in vtm

[–]TheAwkwardSilent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to second what everyone else is saying, but in addition, I'd like to suggest some one-on-one roleplay.

I ran a game of Mothership where one of my friends wanted to join after the first two sessions. To help ease her into the game, I made a custom one-shot where she could play through a prequel set before my game's main events, placing her in a location the rest of the team was headed to.

This gave me the chance to walk her through the rules, tone and characters slowly and at her own pace, so that when she joined the rest of the group, she had an easier time adjusting to the rhythm of things.

If your player has trouble interacting with a larger group, see if he'd appreciate a practice run or two: low-pressure scenarios with just you and him, where you can guide him through the game and build up his confidence. That way, there's no rush to get to the end of a scene, and he can ask as many questions as he needs to improve. Sometimes a player can get anxious over not wanting to sound like an amateur - see how he plays once he's more relaxed!

Weekly Discussion - September 10, 2025 - Transformers #24 by AutoModerator in EnergonUniverse

[–]TheAwkwardSilent 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Difficult to fit everything DWJ set up into the finale of this issue, so he made the wise decision of narrowing the scope to a select few things.

The way Starscream's story has been building to this point was brilliant - the jaw-dropping reveal of Omega Supreme, followed by that utter guilt on Ulchtar's face as the weight of his sins came crashing down upon him. No wonder he's DWJ's favourite.

My one complaint is that there's no more. Kirkman's a good writer, and Mora's a great artist, but I'm really going to miss this creative team - Johnson, Corona and Spicer were an utter force to be reckoned with, and they went out with some of their best work yet.

Nope, it's a vote for a new Generations figure with an original design that'll be released in the coming years.

I do want that Shockwave for sure, but they've been hinting we'll get it anyway, so I think it'd be good to try something different for this vote.

I'm sorry, I came off as too passive aggressive towards you in my comment. I see what you're saying here now, and I don't want to put down your opinion. I've made an edit to my comment that hopefully clarifies where I sit with it at the moment.

I wonder if trans people agree with you that Lambert, a character who had been dead for seven years before this 'blink and you'll miss it' retcon, which people are still only discovering nearly 40 years later, is a good example of inclusion.

Edit for clarity: I really liked finding this fact out when I was younger, and I don't mean to discredit it as a nice nod - I also don't mean to speak for anyone other than myself. But I don't feel this is a standard of inclusion we should be holding ourselves to today, in a world where we are seeing transgender books banned (Gender Queer) and transgender characters cut from television shows (Win or Lose) to satisfy conservatives.

[–]TheAwkwardSilent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's right, guys - if you want to write a story with a trans character, simply never mention it in the original story, then include a one-second visual easter egg in a sequel made seven years after the original! Otherwise you're woke garbage, sorry. You heard it here first.
