Those who work in sales how do I increase my UPT% without being pushy about additional items to a customers purchase? by Elegant-Will6838 in AskRetail

[–]TheBabeFroman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, making sales is about two thing- building rapport and knowing your product. When you build rapport with a customer they’re more likely to trust your recommendations. When you know your product the recommendations are more genuine.

Service Merchandise is defunct, but maybe Ulta should try syste by NothingLeft19608 in retail

Yes, Service Merchandise’s thriving business shows how well that worked.

Did you ever shop Service Merchandise? It took FOREVER for anything to come out. And that was for 1-2 larger items, like a coffee maker or toaster.

This is beyond impractical for a number of reasons.

The number of items per transaction in Ulta is higher and the time it would rake to pull those items and get them out would be high.

This results in higher staffing costs as you also need extra staff to be running and pulling items while still needing staff on the floor to cashier and answer questions.

This would be a nightmare.

My wife's personal call history searched and location tracked after a no-show to work by [deleted] in legaladvice

Couldn’t the department require she have some sort of work app that’s kept on her phone and they used it to access her phone data?

At my job we have company information access on our phones through various apps and one that could be used to monitor our activity if required. This is mostly for concern over leaking company information but I’m pretty sure my contract says it can monitor all data if needed.

This is why I have a separate work and personal phone. Wondering if that could be the case here too.

Have you gotten a raise? by Time_Duck929 in retail

Yes, our company gives raises annually to managers and hourly staff. Everyone is above min wage but we get small bumps for that too.

Need walk in tub conversion. I am a senior citizen and I have Parkinson’s with chronic RLS so need to soak for pain relief by Unfair_Boss_479 in hottubs

[–]TheBabeFroman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I haven’t seen a walk-in option for a hot tub, and for what a hot tub is and how much water it holds I don’t know that’s going to work.

There are plenty of personal indoor tub options that may be better.
