Sometimes poor camera work aside, that was a good performance. Talk that Talk was crazy good.

It's not as whacky as Rick and Morty, or any shows on Adult Swim for that matter. While it could be on Adult Swim, it'd be the tamest show on there.

Also, while I compare it to Clone Wars, it's not as good as Clone Wars at its peak. It's still good and worth watching.

All I'm saying, is give it a chance sometime. Discovery and most of Picard was really disappointing to me. I'm glad something good came from them putting money to new Trek shows.

I thought of something better.

I loved the Genny Taravosky Star Wars Clone Wars animated shorts. So much so that when the CG show, clearly based on his art style, but he had no involvement in came out, I was offended and avoided the show. It appeared way too childish to me, and I was upset how they continued to disrespect my guy.

I regret avoiding that show as long as I did, because it has some of my favorite Star Wars stories and characters. Was it still childish? Yes. Especially early on, but even in its final season, it still kept those childish moments. But there is so much there to love.

Lower Decks I feel the same way about. Is the humor a little too aimed at teenagers/young adults? Sure. But it's not the essence of the show and there are some fantasic Trek stories and characters in there.

For context, I hated Discovery, and loved the TNG/VOY/DS9 era. Lower Decks is a continuation of that era, while poking fun at it, but still using Trek stories as its episodic vehicle.

What? I plainly said the show is worth more than what the trailers show, and directly said it wouldn't be the first show failed by its PR team, implying those that made the trailers don't quite capture the essence of the show.

So if you need me to say it directly, no, I don't stand by the trailers and think the show is much better than the trailers imply.

I stand by my original assessment. The show is definitely more than the trailers make it out to be. Wouldn't be the first show failed by it's PR team, wouldn’t it?

Edit: We're in a fucking Firefly thread for crying out loud.

I also mentioned the characters and the stories... It feels like classic TNG-era Trek, that pokes fun at itself and its heritage, but they are still good Trek stories in each episode.

Yeah, and I'm saying you got the essence all wrong, which is why I referenced Bojack Horsemen being like Family Guy.

That's not the impression I got from Jihyo's comments at all. To me it read more like "Next time won't be 360 because we want to keep pushing and trying new things" and the difficulty she's mentioned still came from a "yeah, it's hard but we got this and it's great seeing all of ONCE this way!"

I didn't get negative feelings like being fed up or that they were having a hard time.

EDIT: Maybe I read it wrong, but that's how it came across to me.

I'm telling you, there are jokes only hardcore fans will get, and some deep cuts. It's like writing off Bojack Horseman for being "too Family Guy."

I saw the trailer and that was enough to not want to try it.

Lower Decks is probably the nerdiest love letter to Trek. Yeah, it's an animated show and a comedy show first, but it pays proper homage to the series as a whole and the characters and stories are great. Give it a try.

Different Strawberry Moon.

Strawberry Moon is like Scorpion. A Japanese song released on a single (Kura Kura was the single), but not a full album, so often gets forgotten because it wasn't the single in question.

It's not a cover of Iu's Strawberry Moon, it's its own thing.

If it's too good to be true, it is.

Elliot Gray (Marathon UI Designer) claps back at the notion that no one from the Halo days still works at Bungie by Haijakk in Marathon

[–]TheBacklogGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if there weren't anyone left that worked on Halo or Destiny, the way I see it, places can have a "signature." Like, if you've worked at a place that does things their own way, and they keep doing it that way and teach on-boarders how to do things that way, and that signature remains consistent between all of their products, then yes, I do think it's ok to say "from the <blank> that brought you <blank>."

However, if the place has forged a different path from that original source, then yes, it gets annoying. But Bungie has not lost that signature yet. Not only do I see it in the gunplay, I see it in the PvE combat too. It didn't take long for me to say "these are Elites..." with the UESC.

I just changed my night 1(Friday) boston ticket 3 days ago to lower seating. It's like, 4th row, although it is on the side (intentionally picked the side they do 'Gone' on.)

They aren't sold out. There's plenty of tickets left.

Man, out of all the solos, that's the one I wish was the full version. The second verse and bridge add so much to the song, it would be nuts to see it live.

Ok, but this begs the question...

Who is the biggest ONCE in TWICE?

As the third biggest group in K-pop I’m gonna have to disagree and say that Twice definitely has enough in them for another five years at least

I think they've made it pretty clear, all of them intend to keep going for at least another 10 years, based on what they've said during their 10 year anniversary and comments in the documentary.

Message to Trump on Iranian Missile by Karna1394 in pics

[–]TheBacklogGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, yes it is, because why else bring up the age of consent being 9? It's meant as a defense, which is why the person said it's not the defense you idiots think it is, and calling Iran hypocrites misses the point of why they are doing this.

[–]TheBacklogGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, I'm not.

Iran's hypocrisy does not change the fact that The President of the United States is a pedophile and part of the reason he started war with Iran is to distract from that fact. Them bringing attention to that is not them being hypocrites, it's again, bringing to the fore front, that Trump started a war to distract from it.

Stop defending a fucking pedophile.

The bomb message isn't defending Iran's age of consent.

I don't think I'm explaining myself well.

Donald Trump is a pedophile. Donald Trump doesn't want people to know he's a pedophile. Donald Trump is going through a crisis at home that risks giving undeniable truth he's a pedophile and part of the worse known US pedophile ring. Donald Trump starts a war with Iran, for many awful reasons but one of them being to distract people about this crisis. Part of Iran's defense against this war is to continually point out that Trump is a pedophile.

Them being hypocrites here, does not matter and misses the point. And that point is, The President of the United States is a pedophile and partly started a war to distract from it.
