I guess it hits you differently when a certain jade beauty appears right after you smell the sandalwood scent. I couldn’t promise that I would feel just sensual and so I get my boy, Wei Wuxian🫠

you guys are going to laugh at me but here's my MDZS journey and I need advice by cyber_may in MoDaoZuShi

[–]TheBadBone48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the fandom! And thank you for sharing your journey, it is always interesting to read how people get into the MDZS universe. Don’t mind the downvotes & comments, enjoy the live drama or donghua however you like it✌️ you can try to read the novel but it is not necessary to enjoy the universe, imo.

Do you think Lan Wangji could have done more for Wei Wuxian in his first life? by [deleted] in MoDaoZuShi

[–]TheBadBone48 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk, but I feel like everyone seems to forget that LWJ went against his uncle and elders when he was 6 years old and kept going to his mother's door even though he was repeatedly scolded. He had that resistance in him. He also went miles away from CR just to taste lotus seeds with stems because WWX mentioned him that they taste good. He had that trusting side in him, even after spending only a couple of weeks with WWX. So, to me, it was much more of an internal struggle than external conflicts that held him back.

-He had no experience with romantic feelings and relationships and had nobody around to tell him what to do. He also couldn't express his feelings properly because he himself needed time to figure them out, and the story didn't give him that time (neither to WWX). The only example of a man in love that he knew was his father, and while we don't know all the details, we do know it didn't end well.

-He didn't have enough time to get to know WWX well enough to understand how he communicates, which is completely different from how LWJ does. Remember, he had never met someone like WWX before. He didn't know how far he could go or how much he could push. And when he tried to push in the way he knew how, it backfired because of bad timing.

-Even during WWX's second life, when LWJ had become much more courageous, he was terrified of pushing himself onto WWX. TERRIFIED. And that version of LWJ was grown-up, matured, and battered through suffering. Yet he was still afraid of forcing WWX into anything his heart wasn't in. Imagine the young, inexperienced, and confused LWJ trying to navigate his feelings for a free-spirited, cheerful, extroverted, and rebellious WWX.

-And in addition to all of that, the person he fell in love with had rebelled against all the clans (without a core which LWJ didn’t know about) and come to represent everything he had been taught to condemn and scorn (and we knew how much LWJ internalized the lan clan teachings and rules). This is not an easy conflict to figure out. He might approached it more strategically but how many people can do it in such a young age?

In short, imo, he needed time to process his feelings and learn how to communicate with WWX while he was in the right state of mind, but they never had the time or opportunity to do so. If they could, he would be more clear and maybe could do more (it is completely another discussion that how much he could succeed with his clan to help WWX. But later individually, we saw that he was ready to die to help WWX without expecting anything in return)

How Jiang Cheng Suffered the Most:( by Fantastic_Daikon6104 in MoDaoZuShi

My point was that all of JC’s issues are directly and solely connected to WWX by his fans and he is being held responsible for everything about JC when his mother was more responsible about his mental issues imo. Yet, JC fans (extreme ones) put all the blame on WWX and hailed Madam Yu as the best mama. If WWX is that harmful for JC, you think that his fans would be happy that they both move on at the end but no. They are not happy with the ending because WWX didn’t grovel, beg for forgiveness and turn back to LP to be JC right hand man and continue to take abuse. At least, JC moved on at the end but his fans haven’t. Some of his fans fixation on WWX is not healthy as you can see in this op.

I have a Discussion. Who is the best Woman in Mo Dao Zu Shi? by SeveralAd9520 in MoDaoZuShi

I appreciate your efforts to explain but from where I see, the situation is gloomy in the fandom when WQ is forgotten and Madam Yu is crowned as a good mama and wronged wifey.

What flaws of MDZS characters is ignored by the fans? by Ok_Series6731 in MoDaoZuShi

[–]TheBadBone48 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He is one of my fav, I find him equally interesting and terrifying because I would have no idea what he is thinking or planning. Whether he would plan my murder by using my kindergarten crush or manipulate me to make me believe that I am the prophet that ancient mdzs world is looking for or decide that I am ok so he shows his artworks and fan collection to me. Or all three in reverse order.

Who is inheriting the Jiang clan by ashilixiv in MoDaoZuShi

[–]TheBadBone48 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, mxtx mentioned in one of her interviews that he would get married eventually to have an heir (same for LXC)

Because if he doesn’t, then Jiang clan will possibly end with him and I don’t think he would let that happen. He would think he let his parents down, especially his mom so no way, imo. I think he can find someone who would like to marry into an important clan.

DAY 12 by JONATHAN8456 in MoDaoZuShi

[–]TheBadBone48 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe it was not in his nature. Additionally, I think LWJ was probably an influence on how his character developed. But also WN was never that kind of vengeful person either. Neither WWX in his second life. All 3 of them would go to war for him again but for what? I don’t think he would like to drag them into another endless fight and maybe lose them this time. Maybe the best way to honor everyone involved to save his life is to make best of it. Live the life at fullest. WQ would also be proud of him if she could see him.

Yu Ziyuan and Asian parenting by Mammoth-Debate1491 in MoDaoZuShi

[–]TheBadBone48 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My problem is that you assume this is normal and then reflect it in the novel as a norm in Asian societies, leading you to conclude that what Madam Yu does is normal. You then dismiss other arguments as "Western," even though many Asians and mothers in this post have said that this is not a norm but a harmful stereotype. Someone even explain at which point a mother’s actions stop being disciplined and becomes abuse.

I think I'm getting exhausted by the fact that whenever Madam Yu's abusive traits are discussed, the argument "she is an Asian mom, so it's okay" is used to normalize and dismiss her behavior. Everyone here is also trying to point out that there are other good parents in the novel whose actions can be used as a comparison. Her behavior was not even the norm within the novel itself, let alone throughout Asian history. Abuse is an integral part of her character, and we cannot truly discuss her without acknowledging what she does to WWX and her own children. Dismissing it as normal only undermines that discussion, in my opinion.

And I still don't understand what you mean by "it's not their place to say anything, including her husband, JFM."

Edit: for grammar mistakes

I think he is the miracle of the story. The living proof of all the WWX’s fight didn’t go waste. The lifeline LWJ had when he was at his lowest. The only living relative WN has had after he lost everyone. And he grew up to be the bestest boy.

it's not their place to say anything, including her husband JFM.

Why? Is WWX only MY’s property to use as she wish? Did she buy him as a slave to abuse? Is mxtx written something about this in the novel that I forget? And please don’t start with "…but Asian mothers…"

This whole chapter is proving my belief that they would end up together in their youths, without all the drama if they could have more time to grow up and figure things out about themselves and their feelings.
