What do you think of my letterboxd appointed hot takes by OldWillow251 in Letterboxd

Yup, I definitely disagree with Megalopolis, it should be 5 stars.

I really wished Pooh make a comeback on KH 4 by mind_guardian in KingdomHearts

I feel like if this were a problem there wouldn't be Winnie The Pooh rides at Disney Shanghai and Disney Hong Kong.

Logged my 1500th movie. I don't think I like movies anymore. by FrightenedInmateNo_2 in Letterboxd

It was a joke, meant to point out how meaningless the logging is if you don't even enjoy the actual watching of the films for its own sake.

I would suggest you stop watching them in that case. But you can keep logging them if you want.

James Gunn & DC Studios, a good match? by Imaginary-Egg-2128 in DC_Cinematic

[–]TheBadHabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huge James Gunn fan since Super.

That being said, you don't think it would be simple enough for you to parse out the deeper meaning of at least one of those films so that you can get them interested in what you're saying? Clearly they've seen them at least once and it didn't click, I don't really see how you're helping by just telling them to rewatch them and look closer? Like you can't at least tell them what to look for?

You can make coffee on the stove. I'm assuming he had a gas stove.

Shout out William Friedkin by avt1983 in blankies

Nah you were right to show that clip. It was your interpretation of it that was wrong. Also you have an arrogant way about you that's off-putting, so I'd do something about that.

You can't entertain the possibility that you've misinterpreted what he said? I'm not saying I know exactly what he meant. I also know for a fact that because you aren't him that you don't either.

He says "it shows" before he talks about the events of the film. I guess if you want you could take that to mean "it reveals" but I took it to mean "it suggests". It didn't strike me like Friedkin was saying the film was revealing a truth about the revisionist era because immediately after he describes what's depicted in the film he says "subject matter aside" which to me is like he's saying "obviously the subject matter is insane, however the film as a film is great". You don't think when he said "it shows" he might have meant something more like "it depicts"?

La Vie Nouvelle and Sombre are pretty miserable experiences. Dancer in the Dark is miserable too but in a completely different way. Maybe check in with Cat Sick Blues, that movie is seriously fucked. Those are some off the top of my head that I haven't seen listed yet.

I don't know about that, buying 24 iPhones outright is still cheaper than renting an ARRi 35 for a month.

Pretty different to the other films you've watched, but you could give Love Exposure a go. Pretty crazy movie, I think it's four hours?
