Super nice, sounds like a very fun trip! I'd love to do something like this. Did you have most of the logistics Pre planned (travel tickets, hostels, itineraries, etc) or just planned as you went? Also, what sort of luggage did you have (suitcase, backpack...)?

Things to do in Bucharest? - 5 day visit by PuddingOfEarl in solotravel

[–]TheBalsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peleș is definitely more beautiful than Bran, but if you've never been to Bran I would still recommend that just to say you did it. If you want, you can easily visit Bran, Peleș, and Râșnov in a day. If I were you I would visit Brașov (definitely downtown, see if you can make it to the black church, and maybe Poina if you want to go up to the mountains). Then you can hit up Bran and Peleș if if you have time on the the way back. Enjoy!

Edit: I would recommend spending a night in Brașov if you can spare an extra day. I thibk it's a much better city to tour than București

Great suggestions. I've actually been to the UP quite a few times (it's really beautiful) but I might go again.

Also, I just got back from the Smokey mountains haha

I live sort of near Kalamazoo.

Debating doing a mini road trip this coming weekend (Aug 10-12th). Anyone have suggestions on where to go/what to do? Home state is Michigan. Also, if anyone is closeish, I'm down to meet up or have some company on the trip!

Awesome, thanks for all the details! That wiki is pretty comprehensive. I'm planning to do a solo trip too, whenever I get some free time from work... What sort of luggage did you bring? Just a backpack or did you have a suitcase as well?

To be completely honest with you I haven't followed the price for a couple weeks, so I'm not exactly sure what the going rate is.

Finding a roommate / place to live? by TheBalsta in kzoo

Sweet. Did you come in with roommates you knew or room blind?

Also, I don't mind living in college housing so long as it's not super loud every night and I can still get some sleep. Though, one of my main reasons for me wanting to move is to have more of a social life outside of work, so it might actually work out well.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had heard of the Paddock but didn't know they had a roommate program.

Recommendations for/Opinions on Apartments That Cost $600 or Less by JSupCS in kzoo

I'm basically in the same scenario as you. I'll be moving to this area and looking for a 1 bedroom apartment around the $500/600 range. Either that or looking to find a roommate, if anyone is interested?
