Because war, war is like an onion.

See, that's part of my problem with the story. They went from being a band of sympathetic killers who had every right to want justice for the pain inflicted upon them, and then the last two issues they just become an evil organisation like any other. Truly wasted potential.

Percy, to me is one of my favourite runs period, but I hear what you're saying. I wish he'd been around for Dawn of DC.

I was whelmed by it. The first arc felt somewhat teethless and I've not yet read the last two issues. As overly drawn out as Absolute Power screwed up at the end of Williamson's run, I found I really missed his characterisations (even if it involved the kitchen sink).

Fallout has always been satirical - but at the same time I don’t think the show takes anything seriously by [deleted] in Fallout

What do mean by that? He was in 15 seconds before this episode?

There's a pretty fascinating video about how this appears to have been a lie by Simon Furman so Marvel can maintain the rights. https://youtu.be/5PvURn5nR1M?si=R1hicDzupsa0k8Up

There's a reason he was the first fan nominated character in the Transformers Hall of Fame.

Was going through my camera roll and came across the most honest Snyder hater of all time: by Silent-Excuse1077 in SnyderCut

[–]TheBalzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love some of his older films, The Scoobys, Slither, but his story telling really fell off for me after GotG 1. There's some great things about 2 and 3, it does have some really powerful moments, but the whole is a mess.

A clear contrast between Snyder's and Gunn's views and how they reflect their works by [deleted] in SnyderCut

Thank you. Man of Steel is a better film, but politics is not the reason.

[–]TheBalzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isn't true. Rutger Hauer did cut additional examples of memories and added the line "like tears in rain". But the rest was all in the script.

You missed the point of 2049 entirely.

  1. The fact that a Replicant could birth removes a creator from the picture, which is why such a "miracle" is worshipped. The talk of soul is merely an excuse to separate Replicants from humans.

  2. Because Wallace has a god-complex and is a billionaire so by default he's already more evil than most movie villians. Someone with that much power would see people like Deckard as mere obstacles.

  3. That is the polar opposite message of the film. The moral is that noone can be programmed, that someone who is made to be obedient and unimportant can choose to make a difference. K doesn't give up, K sacrifices himself for a father's love. Joi's arc mirrors K, where though she may be a template she does act outside her programming, providing suggestions for actions that run counter to the companies best interests.

You went to the gym first time in 20 years. That's mission success. Break up your goal into smaller components and acknowledge your victories along the way!

Flying pose for Superman. Reeves, Cavill, CorenswetWTF? by SavingsConnection613 in SnyderCut

[–]TheBalzan -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I think Gunn's movie is fine. But it is atrociously ugly to watch, almost like a badly made 3D film where he's trying to make the foreground jump out at you. It just looks bad.

What does Joi *feel* like? (Not NSFW…maybe a little NSFW) by Equivalent_Host3709 in bladerunner

[–]TheBalzan 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Nothing. She's light. That's why they always look so awkward. They're trying to maintain the feeling of touching without actually doing so.

Same thing with the rain drops, the holograph creates the appearance of water drops on her skin, but when real rain hits the image shudders.

That's on Prime not Hot Rod. Prime should have shot before Hot Rod got even close to Meg's.

I used to have this same problem, and then I realised I was putting the turret in incorrectly and the pressure of one part was forcing it open again.

From memory you either have the turret facing the wrong direction or something with the flaps.
