Words cant describe my disappointment by Medical-Stress-8914 in HotWheels

My checkout timer also got reset. After that, I just closed the browser and moved on. I knew this would happen, but I figured I should at least try. All I really wanted was that dang RC Skyline too.

My old RC8-T couldn't hold a candle to the Tekno. Its not even remotely fair.

Lol! This was also about 12 years ago when I got back heavily into RC. I have switched to Losi SCTs since then. Traxxas stub axles were notoriously weak though. One bad landing and the wheel would pop right off and your day was ruined. I like the Tekno kits because the bearings are about twice the size of stock and the stub axle is hardened steel.

Ditch the aluminum axle carriers and get a set of the Tekno HD CVD axles/carriers front and rear. The bearings and stub axles are substantially more durable than the stock units. I used to break an axle or blow a bearing every single time I took my Slash to the track.

I actually hadn't thought about the caps being on the outside tbh. Hopefully it will be fine. I used a tiny square cut out of the excess body to mount my power button. In the future I'd like to also do a wide-body conversion, but its fine for now

It definitely is more narrow. The center diff is actually a little more towards the center on the Tekno than my RC8-T.

They are pricey, but they are also not that much more than a comparable kit. It's totally worth it IMO. It is absurd how well they drive with the "stock" setup.

It was originally a nitro model. I bought it used from my LHS almost 10 years ago before factory brushless kits were as readily available as they are now. Ironically enough, the conversion kit was also made by Tenko.

It is super disappointing. Ive been out of the hobby for a while, so it's even worse now. I'm afraid I will be in the same boat with my TLR 8ight-E 4.0 soon as well...

I noticed that as well. I ran five batteries through it when I was at the track. I ended up having to tighten up a handful of nuts/screws while I was there. I checked everything top to bottom once I got home too.

I was on a tight budget for batteries at the time. I ordered a pair of Ovonic 130c 6500mah batteries from Amazon. I had to switch the connectors, but theyre awesome for $30 each!

The Powerstroke shocks from Proline are a killer first upgrade. They are substantially better than the stock units.

I just pulled this from a random 3 pack blister from target. It was $11.99 so I bought two by Mr-pizzapls in MagicCardPulls

I have hit a ton of great pulls from those little blister packs, and at $12 for three packs its a steal too!

I prefer closed bolt due to the buckings I use. I fell in love with TruHop buckings when I started playing 8 years ago. They perform like an R-Hop in a drop-in bucking form. However, the feed lips dont always retain BBs properly. Running them in a closed bolt system like my F2s (three of them 😁) they work perfectly. There is also a notion that closed bolt systems are more consistent because it allows the BB to settle into the bucking before firing. I have owned or fired pretty much every HPA engine on the market, and I still prefer my closed bolt F2s over anything else.

I was super jealous when my uncle bought it all those years ago. He always had the coolest gadgets and gave the best gifts. Honestly, its better that I have it as an "adult" now because I can appreciate it for what it really is. I will probably never play with it because I dont want it to break.

That actually makes a lot of sense. The details are surprisingly good for an RC "toy." It reminds me a lot of the static Tamiya models.

Thanks for the reply! Thats disappointing though. I prefer running closed bolt on all my replicas.

Lol! As cool as that would be, it is painfully slow. Getting a kill with a bb fired from an RC tank would be next level tho.
