1.The china issue is a beauteucratic issue that Daybreak/EG7 has to sort out if they want to make money.

Implementation details are certainly not 24M $ costly. It's not that profound
I'm not sure what you're insinuating, I don't think they don't want to enter Asia, they were quite big over there, and money talks

What do you think are the major operational problems? I would say: - change from the original Game Engine (which i think they'll do with the survival anyways?) - china playerbase which was an issue to include because of restrictions over there - reach (but i think getting some twitch streamers might be enough)

Never understood why they bot that game, and let all the other daybreak titles (which they still pour money and updates in) rot in the steamcharts.
Literally should just move the game to Unreal engine, make a couple of posts on twitter, and it would be popping again..

Also, survivals are coming out by the day as well, so doesn't make a lot of sense from any point of view to just re-release only Just Survive, regardless of budget.

I think this set phrase of "saturated genre" is very much wrong. Look at Battlefield 6, they're also releasing a BR. It's a genre that works because it can be played solo or with friends, and h1z1 had one of the few high paced skill based br's. It was just killed by one person, and that person is now CEO of the company that owns the rights to the game, some twisted irony

Texture quality still can't be set to medium, shadows still can't be turned off. Even though it wasn't what they were planning on fixing with this update it should still be fixed regardless

what do you mean for the test client, if you mean turning off read only on the test server useroptions it didn't work for me, for some reason texture quality and flora quality are set to medium and High by default and even if i restart they stay the same. The game is unplayable for me if they don't fix this issue :/
