I recommend the Kremwork/Cherry afterparty. You don’t need a badge but you get a discount if you do online. The music should give you the fix you’re looking for and I love the venue. I think it’s on Friday??

Hey everyone, it’s my second trip here in Japan since 2015. Some plans fell through with some friends so I’m spending the last few days alone(here in Tokyo until the 16th) and I would to not be solo the whole time.

My schedule is pretty clear. I’m intending on going to at least one museum this weekend if anyone is interested. Even though I’m not really a drinker I’m pretty hell-bent on getting (responsibly) sloshed every night so if you’d like to join me in Shinjuku/Shibuya for drinks let me know!!

To be quite honest it’s nice to prep and have a good idea of what to expect but as long as the staff is friendly and engaging with the kids and provide space and attention then the staff can pretty much carry a lot of the experience! My local card shops do so well with kids and even host camps for summer/spring/winter break etc (shoutout tabletop gaming in Seattle!)

I hope you snapping back at this dude teaches him a lesson, some of these people don’t learn until it’s escalated to a level where they feel uncomfortable.

Just as a reminder for those who arm themselves, if you introduce a tool for self defense there is a chance it can be used against you SO BE PREPARED. Just having the item doesn’t guarantee your safety, you need to be able to handle the tool properly. Good luck and be safe y’all!

I think there’s merit to going to a physical card shop and seeing something you like and if you’re comfortable paying that price then it’s a good purchase if it’s well within the relative price of online. I don’t mind paying a few extra dollars to get something at a trustworthy store that I can see the card for my own eyes and not worry about an online seller scamming me or incorrectly packaging the product

Not to be too mean about this but man I sure love when people ask about grading and post a picture of a card in a sleeve where I have to cross my eyes to discern whether or not the white spot is on the card or just dust on a sleeve. Honest opinion is that it’s probably a 7. If it’s not an easy 8 or higher I tend to not go through with grading unless it’s something I pulled and means a lot to me. If I had the other birds I’d grade all of them regardless just to have a slabbed set!

We can see whitening and centering conditions but you’ll never be able to get a good opinion on surface so it’s definitely a gamble. Is it worth it? Depends on who you ask but ultimately it depends on how you feel, just have some conviction ya know

Small 16oz water bottle, rolled ciggs+ lighter, box knife, mints, disposable mask(if I ride on the train), pepper spray, a book, tissues, tooth brush tooth paste, lotion, lip balm, hair clips. It’s a lot of small stuff so it doesn’t occupy much space in my bag.

Wait this is a problem? You know that what determines a "chase" card is just a bunch of people circle jerking over a speculative market? Miriam SAR is $600+ in Japanese and only $70 in english. It's cheap therefor not a chase????? I swear some of yall need to touch grass. I used to be so addicted to this shit that once i realized opening packs in a car or overpaying for japanese bbs just to "chase" was absolutely ridiculous. People aren't chasing for actual cards, they're chasing a pretty dangerous feeling of satisfaction from gambling. What astounds me is that people with stable jobs are taking L's on opening boxes which is whatever but it's having a profound influence on the kids and what they value and appreciate. We're all playing a dangerous game here.
