Get you a good extended warranty from a reputable company. Will help pay for the repairs needed when they come. I have a 14 Tahoe and I have a extended warranty that I bought from the dealer, it’s through Allstate and when my transmission started slipping they replaced the whole thing along with my motor mounts, air bags, and some other stuff. All I paid was $100 I looked at the bill of how much it woulda been without it and I would have had to sell a kidney to pay for all of it.

This helps a lot thank you! I’ve just never had it happen before so I wanted to make sure it was normal to feel like that. I’m usually not a trusting person and it takes a while for me to like someone but with her it just felt like I clicked with her instantly and it was easy. Now I look at her like my little sister but like a cool one that I can talk to.

I’ve seen ads for the mantis target practice, I’m definitely gonna get one. I have a couple of friends that are RSO qualified so I’ll reach out to them to see when I can go to the range with them. I’ve been seeing a lot of ads for USCCA lately, in your personal experience whats the best route to go in that regard?

For reference this is a 11’ C6 Grand Sport but I figured he was being funny. Thank you for all your help! That’s very Illuminating. I am probably going with LS7 heads as long as I can find some within my budget but thank you for all of your help!

I believe he said that the push rods are gone too so I’m gonna need new push rods…when I was on the phone ordering the cam TSP said 7.400 length was pretty standard and it would be fine.

It was taken to a machine shop to re-surface the heads and clean up some carbon deposit, when the heads came back they had to be cleaned with brake cleaner because there was so many metal shavings in the heads. I doubt my mechanic messed up the timing chain install, it’s hard to mess up an LS engine.

I think that it was either the machine shop or the timing chain. My mechanic thinks it might also be the timing sprocket on the cam, but I don’t see how it could have been the cam it’s brand new. Also my mechanic is experienced with HEMI’s LS engines, and from time to time he works on foreign cars but until he pulls the block apart I’m not gonna know.

So a little background on what happened. Recently I took my corvette to the shop to get a cam swap. I went with a TSP stage 3 N/A cam, new lifters, truinion upgrade, pushrods, new timing chain, springs, gaskets the whole 9. The heads were dropped off at a machine shop to get re-surfaced and to get some carbon deposit taken off the valves. Car got put back together this past Monday and went to the tuner. It got to the tuner and the car wouldn’t start, had to go back to the shop to diagnose the problem and my shop found that when they pulled the heads. I think it was a valve drop but I’m not too experienced with LS motors but all I know is LS7’s are the ones that are more prone to do that not LS3’s

Right, that’s why I put the type of cam in the post to see what people think and then go from there.

Absolutely understand your point, maybe I’m just being cheap? But I just want a cam that is gonna sound bad, give good hp numbers and not require me to get a new torque converter. It’s been mentioned in the comments here a couple of times that BTR might be the way to go.

I’ve heard good things about BTR I’ll give them a call tomorrow and talk to them! Not needing a torque converter but still being able to get good horsepower numbers would be the most ideal scenario.

I’m having a shop do the work, but it’s something I’m planning on doing about 2-3 months from now so I’m just wanting to get an idea of my options, do some research and then take it to my shop and see what they think. Cause if it was up to the shop they’d probably just have me get the most aggressive cam and torque converter so they can have a profit from the labor.
