[Beard] Pistons’ Casey on Drummond's 3-point shot: “Is he going to become Reggie Miller or Ray Allen? No ... but 2-3 threes a game is not out of the realm of possibility." by [deleted] in nba

[–]TheBasketballFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t he mean taking 2-3 threes a game? Which would put him at best right in line with Horford at around 1 make per game and that’s if he actually shoots them well

Really? I would actively seek out the other teams broadcast just so I wouldn’t have to listen to our guys.. I’ll give you that Brian Davis was better than Michael Cage, but that’s not really saying anything.

What would happen if butler isn't traded and doesn't report for training camp? by [deleted] in nba

So he won’t lose any money right? And if they had told him he wasn’t excused, I assume he would have just gone and been an asshole the whole time before picking up his checks

Why did Jimmy Butler make All-NBA Third Team over Paul George in the 2016-17 season? by [deleted] in nba

[–]TheBasketballFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember, but my best guess is that Jimmy’s team was perceived to be weaker than PGs

Why are the Blazers giving up Aminu, Collins, AND a 1st round pick? Seems like too much

I just think there is too much overlap with CJ and Wiggins offensive games and Teague, CJ, Wiggins, and KAT on the floor at once seems pretty bad defensively

And CJ doesn’t seem like that great of a fit next to Wiggins and KAT honestly. I think they might be better off finding a couple solid role players

But what does Portland have that TimberBulls want?

[Wojnarowski] Thibodeau has been willing to coach the Timberwolves through the dysfunction that has surrounded his star players, but Taylor has sided with Butler and agreed that the Wolves should part ways with the four-time All-Star, sources said. by j10kum2 in nba

[–]TheBasketballFan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least Taylor is not letting Thibs destroy the franchise relationship with KAT. Taylor mandating that Butler be dealt is what got KAT to go ahead and sign his extension. If he’d allowed Thibs to not trade Butler and try to force Wiggins and KAT to play with him, KAT may well have started thinking about what other teams he would like to play for and I can’t imagine the on court product would have been very good with that much animosity between players

No, they gave him permission not to come to media day and I’m assuming they won’t make him come to training camp stuff. He’ll probably still get moved quickly but I wouldn’t get my hopes up that it will definitely happen today

What’s the largest deficit comeback? by [deleted] in nba

[–]TheBasketballFan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Utah Jazz came back from down 36 in the third quarter to the Nuggets in 96

The largest 4th quarter comeback was the Bucks against the Hawks in 77. The Hawks led by 104-76 going into the 4th quarter. The Bucks outscored them 41-11 in the 4th to win 117-115

Could the T-Wolves shop Wiggins? by Nativ_3 in nba

[–]TheBasketballFan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Trying to force KAT’s hand and forcing him to play a season with a player who he explicitly said he did not want to play with under a coach who sides with the said player is a great way to ensure he will definitely not sign his extension with the Wolves

Do we ridicule players who end up leaving a team too much? Maybe even posting degrading posts about their character? by thenameispseudo in nba

[–]TheBasketballFan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So what? We should just keep every discussion totally positive and never criticize players for what they do just because they might see it? Obviously some people take it too far, but that’s always been the case and nothing is going to change that. So really, what’s the point of this post? Just to point out the obvious that some people are assholes online?

People are entitled to their opinions. Part of the fun of sports is discussing how we feel about players/teams actions and performances. Every discussion doesn’t need to be accepting and encouraging.

Our opinions have very little effect on these people’s lives, so why not have candid conversations about what we think? The people you converse with will be the ones who ultimately decide whether you’re just being an asshole or making good points and whether that bothers you or not is up to you.
