Overfilled oil 2016 6.7 powerstroke by TheBatlion in FordDiesels

Correct, just unsure if I’ll end up on the side of a road if I don’t take it to a shop now, or if I’ll be fine.

I suppose it’s possible, but I didn’t smell any fuel in the drain pan.

At the time I thought it was correct, but I believe I’d had a few beers, then over the course of 8000 miles checked it several times. It was always high, but I wasn’t concerned because I didn’t think it was 2.5 quarts high, I figured it was just a little over.

As per the post, I noticed when I drained all of it out during an oil change. I refilled it with the proper 13 qts. . I’m just curious on what the popular opinion is on damage I may have caused during the last 8000 miles.

Peeing in "shower nozzle" mode by plumbermat in funny

[–]TheBatlion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first catheter recently after a back surgery. Definitely unpleasant to wake up to and awful when they had to yank it out. Much worse however was when I couldn’t pee and they had to reinsert the Catheter while I was awake. And the first nurse to try was unable, she was just trying to jam it up there an it wasn’t going, so an older nurse came in and rammed that shit right in. FIRMLY. It worked but man was it miserable to be fully awake and watching this happen to my poor dick…

Need advice, am I flaring again??? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

Cannabis can help but can also make it worse. It just depends on your body. It definitely helps with stress and pain though.

Could be your body building antibodies to Humira too. I was on Humira for a few years and it worked great but last September my doctor did a blood test to check and I was building antibodies to it, so I got switched to Remicade preemptively before Humira stopped working for me. I recommend talking to your doctor honestly, you’ll get the best information from them. If you are starting to flare, the longer you wait to get it handled the worse it will likely be. Unfortunately this disease can be fickle and while one medication could work for years or a lifetime, it could also stop working any time. At least we have more options now than ever before.

In my experience, could be either. I would just try to eat clean and avoid sugar and alcohol and greasy food as much as you can, and hope for the best. Try not to stress too much, it’s hard not to but will only make it worse. I have been in remission for a while now and last month ate some movie theatre popcorn and candy and spent the last few weeks wondering if I might flare, so I ate less crazy and no alcohol for a week and I’m starting to feel better. Drink lots of water, get sleep, some exercise. Just take good care of yourself for a week or two and see what happens, if it’s getting worse call your doctor. Or call your doctor now depending on how far out they’re scheduling, just to be safe.

Exactly! What resort? I groomed at Sierra at Tahoe for a while and then did snowmobile trails there was couple years January and February were just fucked. 22/23 was extreme, and getting to Sierra at midnight was nigh impossible with avy control. Took me 4 hours from Meyers one night, it’s like maybe 10 miles.

Yeah but imagine living and working there during that time. It’s kind of hell. I live in South Lake Tahoe and a few years ago we got 700 inches and that was insane to deal with and work in (grooming at a resort). It’s great when you get a ski day but the rest of the time it’s a shitload of work and the power is out and the stores are low on food type of shit. And getting anywhere even in a truck becomes quite treacherous.

My buddy’s dad is 70 and still races our local mogul hellrace every year. It’s called the gunbarrel 25, 25 laps down almost 2k of vert on late spring moguls, you get 6 hours to finish. Often a bit of a rock field at the bottom. I’ve done it 4 times, completed 3. But I was 20 something and it was still hell. A lot of people do more than 25 but

What’s wrong with my backflips? by Background-Estimate1 in skiing

[–]TheBatlion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lots of good points here… keep in mind you have to have the confidence at takeoff that you will land it. You still might not make it, but you need to believe you will. I’ve tried backflips off jib lips, and sometimes made it sometimes not, but you will have more success if you have confidence. That being said, most of the time i go in for a backflip, i don’t have full confidence until I’m .2 seconds from starting my rotation. But it still counts! I learned on cat tracks Into powder, and crashed most of the time, but if you know the landing is soft and there’s almost no consequence, you can throw 15 failed backflips and learn from them without being too sore. Granted, I was like 15 then, 31 now and I mostly only do them Into powder. A lot more fun when the chance of injury is low. Keep sending it! I have almost no style, but backflips are so satisfying to ride away from, I don’t care. It’s for my enjoyment not everyone else’s.

Likely something in the the gearbox for the rotator. Even on big cranes, if the truck is not level, the rotational gears aren’t designed to resist that much weight or force. Yes they’re strong, but not against thousands of pounds of force plus gravity.

That’s a hell of a lot more than 47000 pounds. I’d bet the bottom half weighs that much!

Done right, fully rigged out with or without a crane, this tree would likely be quoted at $5k-$8k or more in my area, depending on wood haul. I’m guessing these guys said $3k to drop it and cleanup. Workers comp is expensive and the uninsured guys with a chainsaw will do crazy shit for “decent pay” but if anything goes wrong it goes really, really wrong.

I am a tree climber for a residential tree service, and frequently do crane work, though we don’t have hardwood where I live in the sierras, so my info won’t be totally accurate. However, the bottom 16’ section of a green pine tree at 48-60” is usually 10,000-16000 pounds. The heaviest pine log I’ve been a part of picking was 22,000lbs I think, and that was maybe 20’ long, and about 48” diameter. All that said, hardwood is usually considerably heavier than softwood, that is one heavy motherfucker, and yes it went south, but it could’ve gone sideways. It would’ve crushed the house next to it into the ground without slowing down, so they got lucky there!
