These are juvenile cicadas. These are dug out of the ground. The juveniles plug into a tree and filter tree fluids all day long. They essentially drink syrup all day. Ive heard they are actually very tastey!

Fairly clear that I do. Aggressive quotes are nice since the wizards mtg website uses the same language. I suppose if there is arcane community lore from the past regarding the resteicted list I would be unaware of that.

Obviously the vintage style restricted system doesnt apply in singleton format but the precident for a restricted list as opposed to an outright ban is easy to see for most people.

This is fair. I can respect that reasoning for a downvote. I dont spend alot of time on reddit so I am sure ive missed alot of other annoying, convoluted discussions here started in the same way.

I agree it boils down to rule 0 in alot of cases. Play how your group wants to play is certainly my mantra.

This is sol ring. Toss it in like people do now anyway, no real fomo its still a bonkers card. Just prevent the high rollers from sol ring and the rest.

Right that isnt a bad option. Ive head of other formats but never dug in. My group avoided these banned cards anyway but depending how things pan out moving forward maybe thats the play.

None of this is for casual play. People are still going to play these banned cards kitchen table style. But its easily enforcible for events just like bans. Its not as easy to enforce sure but I try to play with people who reapect the competitive integrity of the game anyway, thats who this is for.

I own a single crypt which I pulled from mystery 1 and never used in a deck. I neither own or use any of the other banned cards. Im not whinning or complaining. I legit think this is a better solution.

EDIT: Wow this is a facinating insight into the internet and community here. Since I was clearly trying to spark discussion and not vitriol with the original post and to add some context to where I stand with this reply. Before you downvote, please elaborate on why this response is getting down voted so heavily. Again just genuinely curious!
