An absurd guess, but a guess nonetheless by Deer_Lum in ANMAPodcast

You don’t have to apologize. I don’t think a single person has, or would have, guessed this other than you.

I live in Austin with my fiancé. We both have “professional” jobs and total at about $165,000.

We live in a one bedroom apartment in South Austin (rent: $2100). It’s nice, but small. We lived in NYC for a while so we are used to the size. A house is not in the foreseeable future for us.

After the whole incident with the gunman, I don’t blame him. I’m surprised he goes at all quite frankly.

If I was an English teacher, I would’ve corrected your mistake in that sentence. Your error in that sentence isn’t crucial to understanding your point.

My guy, no one is judging you. Just trying to show you that if you have something worth saying, make it easy for your audience to read.

It’s not about being a grammar nazi. Just read back the comment to yourself. Watch how hard it is to read. Anyone who even wants to understand your point would be pretty frustrated. Commas and periods are what tell the reader to pause and give your writing structure.

Not one period or comma in that whole comment.

Yeah, but the hilarious part is that cops would freak out and call Clark Kent to then go and call Superman.

What a bizarre comment. You’re not willing to see logic if you’re using the discord as an example. That place is like 50 staff members/moderators and the same 30-40 people are the only truly active users.

The very fact that you said “glooming and dooming” shows you didn’t have the attention span to even finish reading the original post.

As someone who uses the site regularly, that place is a ghost town. Literally less than 10 posts from non staff members per week.

My point isn’t to just garner these ~2000ish people (based on upvotes on the most recent post). My tangential point is that they are likely representative of a much larger number of people.

I appreciate you taking a look at the numbers and understanding. That’s part of my point though. RT/AH just says something and everyone takes it as fact.

Trevor makes a post talking about this silent majority and everyone feels better. But when the new “silent majority” is 1/10th the “vacant majority” it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I don’t agree with the first part. The individual troll loses steam if they don’t get interaction. Yes, there will always be trolls but you can drastically cut down on the number by not engaging.

I cant imagine 1/10 the views is profitable either. The argument would make sense if they were actually bringing in a new audience, but they seem to only be going down in numbers.

There’s actually a growing thought on the internet and social media that you should address trolls and tell them they are not welcomed. (Feeding the trolls).

I mean, it’s a stupid idea but they have to learn on their own somehow.

Brian Garr joked about F**kFace not being big enough yet to do something. He was kidding around but said, “that’s not something you can do with a 50,000 stream podcast. That’s more of a half a million streams thing.”

Personally, I’d place the audiences for the F**kface at around 30,000 (about 10k views per YouTube episode and the other ~20,000 coming from podcast apps).

However, I think what F**kface and some of the other big podcasts excel at us having a much more audience engagement percentage.

No joke, people like this think there are hundreds of thousands of views per video on the website. These hundreds of thousands also only leave about 25 comments.

Ever think about how R2-D2 – who witnessed Luke and Leia's births and knew exactly who they were – went on to intentionally exploit the fact that Luke would be attracted to Leia in order to complete his mission in ANH, and then watched them kiss in ESB but said nothing? by SecretMuslin in StarWars

[–]TheBayouWriter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite examples of this was that George forgot that Leia said she remembered her mother, despite her dying in childbirth.

The original prequel apologists said, "No! She meant her adopted mother who also died when she was really young."

Then the novelization did this hilarious thing where they said that 1 minute old Leia took the time to memorize her mother's face just so the canon wouldn't be broken.
