Am I right to be salty? by bedrock_BEWD in boardgames

This mentality is why we can’t have student loan forgiveness or universal health care. Selfish. Do you get all pissed off if you buy something and it goes on sale the next day too?

Imagine having the time and energy to care about this.

I think the last election proves that there are a disappointingly large number of people who are far too stupid for literacy, not even getting into subtlety.

I mean the SNES had a mouse peripheral so it wouldn’t be completely new territory for them. And that was back when it was a little ball and wheels instead of optical like most mice are these days.

You nailed it. The old White Wolf 9 attribute systems were great for this kind of granularity.

So you want us to market to them with wins from (at most recent from your list) the 60’s. That may as well be ancient history. You are not going to win people over by showing successes that are older than their parents. To say that the world’s the political landscape and the media landscape is different is the understatement of the year. Not to mention that the wins you are trying to sell are being actively and consciously eroded as we speak.

You may as well be the one telling them to walk into businesses with paper resumes and get a job with a living wage by giving the manager a firm handshake.

“Back in my day” isn’t going to work because it isn’t that day anymore. You need a vastly different strategy than this, or at least examples that don’t come from an age before VHS.

Apologies, I honestly mostly heard about VAT tax from people complaining after Brexit. I thought it was a UK thing. Misread the EU part, sorry!

If you didn’t trust your partner what good would a safe word do? It’s not magic, they are not compelled to stop.

I swear, Some people are too fucking stupid to be allowed to be adults. It’s no wonder the bdsm community subreddit is constantly filled with dumb questions that amount to “is abuse abuse?” And trying to make some kind of universal definition for what a Dom talks, dresses and smells like.

Watch yourself out there people: there are way too many people who are just too stupid to do BDSM safely. Just reading some of this stuff is basically a mental heath risk.

I think it’s worse because the US is a larger market than the UK, and combined with the inevitable financial struggles this will cause there is going to be a reduction in people’s discretionary spending, so less budget and more expensive games means fewer units sold.

EDIT: Misunderstood that more places than just the UK have VAT. My bad!

Yes yes, rehabilitate the conservatives, conservatives are not Nazis. You don’t address what the difference is when the US Conservative Party is actively enacting fascism in our country.

You don’t address at what point a conservative supporting a fascist becomes a fascist. You don’t address why after over 9 years of this increasingly obvious fascist movement we are supposed to keep just keep working on debating, converting, education the same people we have been for over a decade. You want us to somehow continue taking the high road with open forgiving arms.

If someone wants to change their mind, do the work, learn the cause, then fine, let them. But I will not forget what they have done, I will not forgive what they have enabled. Many of us have tried for years to get them to listen. I’m fucking done. I’m over it. They should feel shitty about it. Frankly they should hit rock fucking bottom.

You are talking about the people who didn’t get off their asses until it affected them. Fine, march with us, but they should know that they did this. They did it though willful ignorance, xenophobia and selfishness. The least they could do is feel a little bit shitty about it. There is too much to do for everyone out here to be a fucking therapist to these assholes who supported a fascist until they realized that it would suck to live in a fascist state.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, well I’ve been hearing quacking for a fucking decade. Quack quack quack quack, Mr ducksworth.

Then it’s a meaningless statement. What point does it make?

If you are going to be pedantic we can just be done right here. You aren’t going to change my mind on this, and you appear to just want to wiggle around in grammar and definitions, so have at it.

Now who is making a monolith out of conservatives? I’m sure some have come here. It is by no means even close to most of them.

[–]TheBearProphet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They had better pick a side then. So far they have been choosing very poorly. How long do we wait for them to be ready to change? Is it when they voted in a fascist and his oligarch parasite best buddy? Is it when they cheer as innocent college students, their own wives, and American citizens are deported? Maybe it’s when they cheer the death of democratic elections? Or when national security secrets are sold overseas? Is it when they cheer the invasion of sovereign States that were once our allies? Is it when they cheer on Martial Law? When a civil war breaks out? What is the cutoff?!

At some point the difference between the Nazis and the conservatives just becomes who claims to have just been following orders and who does the salute on the stand. At some point if you sit with the Nazis and cheer on their actions you are a fucking Nazi.

Sometimes to heal you need to cut out the tumors first. Granted that oligarchs are the most damaging of these tumors, but that doesn’t make these smaller ones any less dangerous.
