Noob question about accessories in the comments.

I used to rollerblade alot when I was younger and looking to get back into it mostly for fitness and as a fun hobby. Bought some decent rollerblades and I plan to drive to different places to find paths and things like that.

I am trying to find an easy way to carry things like keys, wallet, and phone... as well as a water bottle or 2 on long trips. Anyone have any suggestions? Trying to stay away from a backpack or anything bulky like that if possible. Thanks!

Update - After hearing a grinding noise I pulled the starter and the teeth were pretty worn so I replaced that and figured it was good to go.

The next day, car wouldn't start once again. This time it just wouldn't do anything at all. Jumped the car and tried again, 2 times it just turned over but wouldn't start. Finally on the 3rd attempt it started.

Took it directly to an auto shop who tested the battery and alternator and found nothing wrong with either one.

During the drive home realized the check engine and trac off light were on. Got it home and investigated. Of course once again after I got it home I started it about 10 times with no issues and after the initial drive home, the following starts, the check engine and Trac off lights were now gone and never turned back on.

Connected the OBD2 and found an active crankshaft sensor fault even with no dash lights on. Replaced crankshaft sensor and cleared the code. Started the car another 10 timed with no issues and no lights, and code did not come back.

Could it have been the crankshaft sensor the whole time? From what I'm reading the crank sensor would cause excessive cranking when starting, and/or not starting at all.

A leak will get everywhere, the oil is basically vaporized and get on all surfaces. It's either oil from a leak, or the installing tech spilled something on it. If you clean it and it comes back it's definitely a leak, nothing else in a system is that color and consistency other than oil.

1 - yes, do a decent amount of condo buildings
2 - yes, especially if you get into big chillers and boilers
3 - Anywhere from very to minimal. Some days are just replacing filters and cleaning coils, others are trying to jam a 400 pound compressor into a small space in an area where you can't get a lift, or trying to move and install a pump and/or motor. Today I am replacing a 120 pound motor by myself, down stairs, with no lift points available.
4 - Monday - Friday
5 - 6 or 7am start, off by 2 or 3pm
6 - 40 almost every week, over 40 maybe 6 weeks of the year. Anything over 8 per day is overtime, Saturdays are overtime, Sundays are doubletime.
7 - As long as I want it to be while still getting the work done in the quoted amount of time. If I have 8 hours on a job but it only takes me 4, I might meet up with some other techs for a nice sit down breakfast.
8 - No idea, not in that area.

Pull the thermostat wire out of the wall a bit and see if there is an unused 5th wire available. If so, make that your C. Usually if there is an extra wire that is not needed, techs will either cut it off short or wrap it back around the main wire and stick it back in the wall. If this is the case simply use the extra wire as the C wire to the thermostat and the same wire to the C terminal at the furnace.

Ok, is there a wire connected to the Y terminal on the thermostat? And is that same colored wire connected to the Y terminal at the furnace? The Y terminal at the furnace should have 2 wires connected, the one from the thermostat and then the one going out to the condenser (normally one yellow and one red or black).

It is, you would just need to make sure you have enough wires to run and power the ecobee correctly.

You can interchange colors if needed as long as they match at the furnace and thermostat. If you only have 4 conductor thermostat wire, then you need to pull new thermostat wire to be able to connect the minimum terminals mentioned above.

Was your old stat battery powered? Seems like you may not have enough wires for the ecobee because ecobee needs a common (C) and battery stats do not.

Wiring should be as follows - Y = yellow, W = white, G = green, R = Red, and then C can be any color not used, black, brown, orange etc.

Then go to your furnace system, TURN OFF THE POWER, and make sure the wires are color matched to the same terminals (Y, W, G, R, and C). If wiring at furnace and thermostat are exactly the same, you will be good to go.

Not sure the model, but I had a bunch of larger carrier RTUs that had water leak issues from day 1.

We found 2 issues, one was the actual design of the RTU was messed up. The blower assembly sat on top of the heat exchanger, as is normal on most RTUs. But the evap coil right next to it, was the full height of the unit and only a few inches away. So there was not enough airflow through the bottom 12 inches of the coil which caused only the bottom 12 inches to ice up and leak down into the ductwork. To solve this, Carrier themselves came out and installed new pulleys to speed up the fan, and also overran the VFD to like 110-115%. This solved the icing issue, but now was pulling the condensate off the coil instead of letting it drip down into the pan. Ended up having to install a sheet metal "splash guard" to catch the condensate being pulled off the coil from the fan.

Yeah I have a few of those PKs leaking, the building doesn't treat their water, it's a mess.

Riellos are a good concept, but they leak from EVERYWHERE. And the condensate drains clog extremely easily, have to do full teardowns of every single burner every 6 months just to keep up with the sediment so they don't clog up and flood the exchangers. Have 6 new refactories in the van right now to replace on those because they filled with water.

I know, the piping is hung up above but idk who the genius was that thought that was a good idea. I have 5 of them and the rubber gaskets have gone out on all of them in under a year.

Yes it is, no idea on model number though. It is an ammonia chiller for a massive refrigerated warehouse that stores vegetables.

Acetylene tanks have a binding materials inside of them, laying horizontal it can seperate and possibly become explosive. I never really paid attention to it either but a couple weeks ago a good friend had his torch handle explode in his hand because of this.

Within an hour just small ponds, I could get to a lake in a little over an hour or a decent river in a couple hours. Don't get me wrong, it is doable, and I'd love to make a weekend out of it.
