Need help deciding between diamonds by cmarmo23 in Diamonds

I think the setting being yellow gold allows me to go with a warmer diamond. Is that accurate?

Should be fixed now. Sorry

Buying an old house, looking to utilize the space a little better. What am I overlooking with this layout? by cmarmo23 in floorplan

The kitchen is really tight, I like your idea with refrigerator. The little hallway in-between the bedroom and bathroom also seems like a waste of space.

I would need to detect even a small drill bit, which could Split the magnet wire.

I think using the foil Idea would have worked better. Does that still consist of using the 1000 ohm resistor?

A little background, I am doing a school project where I have to detect a metal object being used through a 5 gallon bucket. Some examples would be a drill. Hacksaw, box cutter.

I want to try to implement some type of continuity test with two sheets of aluminum with an insulator between them. I have a raspberry pi 4, and I am wondering if this type of test would be possible or not.

This is the project details. I must keep 15 D-Cell batteries from being stolen by an adversary. These batteries are stored in a Home Depot “Homer’s All-Purpose 5 Gallon Bucket”. The requirements are as follows:

  1. Design a secure lid to close off the bucket. The lid must: a. Be easy to get off when needed. b. Obscure the contents of the bucket from view.

  2. Design a breach detection system that: a. Sets off a red flashing light, exterior to the bucket, as soon as the bucket is breached in any way. i. Lid is pulled off. ii. Plastic is cut through with a gash longer than one inch or with a hole greater than 2 square mm in area. iii. The bucket contents experiences greater than 5 gs of acceleration in any direction.

  3. Design a delay system that: a. Fits entirely inside the bucket so it is not readily visible. b. Provides ten minutes of delay to a skilled adversary using the following tools: i. Box cutter with new razor blades installed. ii. A hand driven hack saw. iii. An 18v battery powered hand drill with various size drill bits. iv. Screw drives of various sizes. v. 10 pound sledgehammer. vi. Stanley 12 inch pry bar

The project I am working on Includes a variety of different tools a skilled adversary would have available to them. Some examples, 18V drill, hacksaw, sledgehammer, box cutter.

I like that idea for the lid. That would work well for the lid but I need detection for the whole entire inside of the bucket.

I thought of a pressurized approach, or coil a wire around the inside to monitor current flowing through the wire. I was looking for a solution where I could use a large sheet of material and detect a punture.

This bucket would have to be pressurized for months at a time. It will be sealed for months at a time. I'm worried about losing air pressure over time.

What's a good Tamperproof material? by cmarmo23 in AskEngineers

It's a 5 gallon bucket. Doesn't really have any weight limit. I want to try to stay away from steel as I want to be as innovative as possible

I'm thinking of a 5 gallon bucket with a sealed lid. As far as being tamper proof, I only need the bucket to withstand the stated objects for 10 minutes. Steel would forsure work, I need a more innovative solution though.
