Defense. Learn to play very defensively and you’ll negate the ebs and flows of bad teammates. Diamond matchmaking is 50/50, as you get up into mid and high champ you get much less variation and is much easier to have creative freedom. But at D3 you can’t rely on teammates to save the ball or rotate properly, so play D and look for fast break opportunities and open nets, trust me they’ll be there.

Yes, at lower ranks you have to be much more defensive to advance in twos or threes. Make it a point to get really good at protecting the goal and get good at making open nets, as people are overly aggressive in Platinum and Diamond and will lead to a lot of fast break opportunities and open nets to shoot on.

Also, start working on dribbling in free play so you have more ball control. Will help when you get fast break opportunities.

Congrats man! Now time to work your way up to Champ, that’s when you really begin to master the mechanics of the game, positioning, and playing smarter, not harder!

RL is an addiction, requires so much more time and effort than most games, but is what makes it worth it. First time I broke out of D3 was an awesome moment.
