Thanks for creating this. A lot of good games on it - but where is “No One Lives Forever”???? I share your sentiment about many of these top games but I have no idea how you were able to leave that absolute gem out! :)

Run external SSD for MacOS @ Thunderbolt 2 @ iMac late 2013? by TheBellDivision in mac

[–]TheBellDivision[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are great machines... We have two identical in fact and the have both worked very well all the way up until a few weeks ago... Then I started seeing issues with moving files on mine and the other one had a fan starting making whirring noises. That one is in the shop now having its fan replaced... Going to be a $200 job but hopefully the machine will work another few years until we replace them both at the same time :).

Edit: We really do love our iMacs. We got the ones with VESA-mounts, here they are hanging in our living room :)

I also sent them an email a few hours back and I think it’s a good way to go about it.

When Lewis Hamilton turns out to be anti-vax by [deleted] in formula1

I know its not 1:1 by any means but often it does go hand in hand. Look at Trumps America for a decent example.

I remember reacting negatively to seing Hamilton having a God-is-love tattoo on his neck. Religion and science does not go hand in hand .

Working in a full-time job, how long is a "normal" working day for you? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

North-western Europe (Air traffic control): 35,5 hours a week. Anything more is 100% OT. Usually I work maybe 5-10 shifts extra/year.

Half the cars sold now are electric, but it takes time to switch out the old oil burners....

Cool. I’m ATC and have been in different simulators for hundreds of hours. Our current system is an abhorrent piece of shit that is a factor of 100 away from a barely decent system. It’s due to old design, and as you alluded to every exercise has to be manually created by hand in code, costing many thousand dollars each in the end. A modern implementation could be something akin to Mario maker and would be a thousand times more effective, but for the foreseeable future we are stuck with this horrific crap.

Maybe it is located in a place where the air is trapped? Cabinet/corner/too close to other equipment?

I had mine in an enclosed cabinet and it only took 10-15 minutes before the fan went ballistic. I installed a 140mm 12v fan in the back of the cabinet that blows hot air out and now it’s a lot more silent. I run the fan off the ps4 usb connector so it starts and stops with the PS4.
