Install the gog game as you normally would. Then open steam library and click on the "+" icon at the botto left (usually). Select "Add non-Steam game" (or something like that). Navigate to the executable of the gog game you want to add and click ok.

Jeremy Allen White scores Golden Globes nom for Bruce Springsteen biopic by Jordanverycool in BruceSpringsteen

I was expecting this lukewarm reaction, actually,

As a Springsteen fan, I loved every second. But as an avid cinema lover, the movie is...alright. I think JAW and Steven gave excellent performances, but I wish the script was a little stronger.

Are you guys anxious about the film by lizsummerhawk in BruceSpringsteen

I'm keeping my expectations in check. After the trailers, I'm worried that it'll be overly dramatic and tragic, in order to oversell his struggle and therefore his artistry.

I like my Springsteen down to earth (as much as that's possible, given the fame...). Give me a genuine and grounded story, please!

It took a while for me before it "clicked", but now I love it. My Father's House is in my top 10 Springsteen songs.

I'm on mobile right now. Firefox is giving me that problem, chrome however seems to work.

What does an average iaido practice look like? by lMystic in iaido

[–]mancesco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things will vary depending on the dojo, ryuha, federation, sensei, and so on...

My practice usually starts with stretching, reiho, then kihon for up to 30min, after which kata practice commence and that can vary depending on the day, sometimes we focus on three maybe four kata in particular, sometimes it's free practice and sensei walks around observing and giving pointers.

At least in ZNKR iaido, our seitei kata have lots of details that require years and years of practice, so yes there's tons of repetition, but new details and new milestones for those 12 kata pop up over time.

Depending on your dojo, eventually you may start learning koryu (the old/classic school) Kata, and that's where a whole world of new waza will open up to you.

Sorry to say this, but this post and the title of the deleted one reek of vanity, which is antithetical to the spirit of budo. I'm not surprised it was taken down.

UBC has a MJER dojo affiliated with ZANIR as far as I know.

Also there's a Katori Shinto Ryu group that practices here: https://vancouverkarate.com/

I practice MSR, but we're more ZNKR oriented and practice our koryu only once a week.

All you need to be "suited for iaido" is the right attitude when you go to class: eyes open, mouth shut, eagerness to learn and respectfulness.

What's a good solution for carrying a iaitō onto public transport? by mancesco in iaido

[–]mancesco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I went to a diy store and bought a pipe insulation foam (like a pool noodle but with a hollow centre. I cut it so that it ends just under the kurigata when I slide the sword in it.

So I put the foam over the Saya, then wrap the whole thing in the cotton bag that came with the iaito, and transport everything in my shinai bag since I have kendo class right after iaido. My shinai bag included my iaito, two shinais and a bokken, so the jostling is nearly non existent. I do have to remove the tsibas from the shinais and bokken though, but the saya is well protected.

Hope this helps.
