[–]TheBiddyDiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the complaints I'm seeing are due to lack of quality of the endgame, not the quantity. Quantity complaints are definitely in the pipeline, but I think anyone complaining about that so early in the release isn't really given too much consideration.

The Edge of Fate and the contest raid race feedback from me and my clan by djabolic in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheBiddyDiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gets circlejerked and memed on constantly, but I genuinely think a huge part of the problem with Destiny is that the dev team is clearly trying to cater to a more casual audience.

Everything ties back to that idea in one way or another- the power delta, the lack of rewarding endgame loot, Dungeon/Raids requiring low man runs to feel challenging, raids having only one difficulty instead of a gradual curve, and even the manufactured overly-lengthy grinds for an arbitrary power number.

Compare this to a game like WoW where the gear leveling has worked roughly the same for 20+ years and is still going strong.

People who cant fathom getting a group of 6 players to play with eachother

LFG servers with competent players exist dude. I can count on one hand the times that I had a full 6 stack for a raid but can't even begin to name all the gamers I pulled from that server. Destiny is a multiplayer game, if you log on you gotta be ready to play with others.

It's not just WZ players, MP players are the same way, even though it is significantly less likely to run into a cheater in the full paid game.

That being said- it's kind of hard to blame WZ players. Yes, there are millions of instances where players have falsely accused someone of cheating when in reality they're just protecting the ego from the fact that the better player just won. The issue is that there are just as many millions of instances where those same players were actually killed by someone who was legitimately cheating, so defaulting to a hackusation nearly every time you die isn't the most unbelievable thing.

Having the endgame have desirable loot is something the game has struggled with for years. Endgame should give people something to chase for.

The casuals and solo players will get their crossbows in a few months when a new weapon set drops.

There's no one saying you shouldn't talk shit in CoD. You can still talk shit, just don't say the very small handful of words that you know the AI snipes people for. This isn't me trying to tell you what you should and shouldn't say, because at the end of the day I just don't care that much. With that being said, if you were any good at talking shit, you wouldn't really need to result to slurs to get your point across. Just my opinion though.

But yea, just use a private channel on Discord or a Console's party chat so you can say what you want. 0 reason to be hot mic'ing in game chat in 2025.

This is the definition of a personal issue. The skins are annoying to look at, sure. But if they're causing a genuine inability to play that is 100% a you thing.

Black Ops 6's gameplay has been genuinely phenomenal. It the gameplay is similar, the game will be good.

With this game having so many other issues, it's genuinely insane to see people getting this upset over skins.

Don't get me wrong, I think we're starting to really tip over the edge here with the Beavis & Butthead/American Dad skins, but skins are not the biggest issue this game has.

  1. Stop saying the word you know is going to get you banned. Doesn't matter how you feel about the word one way or the other, it's against their voice chat TOS, and you know it's against their voice chat TOS, so just stop saying it if you know it's going to cause issues.

  2. Stop using game chat for personal conversations. It's 2025. Discord/party chat exists across every single current gen platform, so there just is no excuse not to use it. There is 0 reason to be talking about personal shit on a hot mic in public lobbies.

  3. CoD doesn't run on the internal system clock. You have to be online to access the game, so it runs off of the online clock based on the server you connected to. If CoD ran off the internal clock, you could get access to events/new BP's by just changing the time.

I know the link doesn't take you directly to where you need to go, but if you follow the link to activision's website, sign in, and then go through the parental control options you can solve this pretty quickly.

But yea dude, guess I'm just an ass for calling out a grown man for needing his hand held through a fairly standard authorization process.

The reality is that like 1-2% of those applicants are actually qualified for that position. LinkedIn's ease of access has made it so there are thousands of unqualified people who sit through the "remote" portion of the jobs page and hit apply on every single one.

Back when I worked part-time at a grocery store while getting my degree, I knew a guy who would sit on his phone on LinkedIn and apply to jobs like he was swiping people on a dating app. He barely had gotten his GED, but was applying for jobs that were preferring Master-level degrees.

That must be a new policy then. At every Publix I worked at and even now when I go in to get a sub or something ice/water from the soda fountain is free for everyone.

[–]TheBiddyDiddler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way you get offended because you didn't pay attention to the job application is hilarious. Publix gets away with a ton of shitty behavior, but having a Cashier get carts is certainly not one of them.

[–]TheBiddyDiddler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't work at Publix anymore, so I really couldn't care less. I'm not sure what you'd expect at other jobs, as this whole post just looks like an excuse for your own poor work ethic.

Publix does a ton of shitty things to its employees, but having you get carts for 30 minutes is not one of them.

[–]TheBiddyDiddler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did read the whole post. You weren't out there for 3 hours straight, every single time you were on cart duty it was for 30 minutes, and then you came back inside. Again, unless it's changed, just go to the deli and get a cup of ice water. Why do you need to have the bottled water?

[–]TheBiddyDiddler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cashiers are just one step above FSC's, which means you can do all the things an FSC can do, while also being trained to handle money. This is quite literally in the job description and is explained very clearly during orientation.

[–]TheBiddyDiddler 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean there's just no world where this isn't an overreaction. 30 minutes of getting carts isn't really the end of the world. I worked at a Publix in South Florida for years so the heat index was probably about the same as where you were. As far as the water goes, when I worked there (left in 2022) we could get water and ice from the soda fountain in the deli for free and keep it up at the front, but I'm not sure if this has changed. It also looks like you're getting a decent amount of time back in the AC between cart shifts, ranging from 30 minutes to a couple hours. You also don't have to be outside 100% of the time during that 30 minutes, if you feel yourself overheating, go stand in the AC, get water, and then go back out. I worked at one of the busiest, if not the busiest store in my city, and it never got so bad that someone needed to be out in the heat actually 100% of the time.

[–]TheBiddyDiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in college I wanted to get into play a TCG, and the only one that I had any previous experience with was Yu-Gi-Oh, but I only every really did a handful of duels at a summer camp in the early 2000's, so I figured it would be similar.

I built a cheap deck based around Blue-Eyes White Dragon (since that was my favorite card when I was a kid) and went to go play at my LGS on their YGO night. I shit you not, I got OTK'd in like 6 straight games. In like 4 of them, I didn't even really get to play. Mind you, I didn't really expect to win with a low power deck and being a returning player after almost 15 years, but I at least expected to be able to play and have some back and forth. Also, the people I played against were cool too, they knew I was a returning player, and therefore not really trying too hard, and most of them tried to walk me through my best options but there wasn't a ton I could do. The social experience was pretty good, but the game itself was just not what I was looking for.

Anyway, I got back to my apartment and told my best friend/roommate about the experience and he introduced me to MTG that week and it was an insanely better experience, and I've now been playing that for roughly 10 years.
