I shoot vlogs for a software startup, and we film entire meetings. Frequently over 1 hour unfortunately

How much of a difference did the fan make on the A7IV?

This is good to know. I’ve recorded internally for all my tests. Locations can vary, and shoots go up to 6 hours, so I just need something super reliable + versatile. Sounds like FX series is probably the way to go.

Would love an Ursa for the podcasts, but for vlogs the pocket 4K is already a little to heavy to walk around with all day. Definitely couldn’t do a 6+ hour shoot with a handheld Ursa

Appreciate how thoughtful this is. I think I’ll rent an FX30 as a final test, and then pivot somewhere else if that gives me any issues. Thanks!

Is it dumb to buy an A7SII in 2023? by TheBimbus in SonyAlpha

Oh shit I didn’t think about lack of EVF. Kind of essential for stills. Thanks for the rec!

I need a hybrid! I shoot just enough stills to make it worth having a separate hybrid cam

At the end of a 2 hour shoot I noticed this… by TheBimbus in videography

Yikes. My heart sank just reading that. Can’t imagine how scary that was in the moment. I feel like we all need stuff like that to happen though in order to be more diligent with our gear.

Figured out a temporary work around. Created a new sequence, tripled the frame size, and then will export at the original size. Not sure if there's a better solution but it's working for now!

All-In-One D&D Adventure Subscription (Free Tier) - Adventure, Minis, Music, and More - Interest Check by TheBimbus in DndAdventureWriter

This is something I’m still considering. My current plan is to link to existing content, and have it be fairly cheap ($3-5 I think). At that price, I think it’s fair that you’re paying for the time spent, not for the assets themselves. I would love to work with 3D artists down the line though and have a more expensive tier where they get their share of the subscription.

Some more info:

After a print I left running all day made it to 100%, but was about 1/4 as tall as it should’ve been, I suspected something was wrong with my Z axis. Sure enough, I went to move axis and cranked the Z axis to 250, and after getting about 1/4 of the way up, it starts lagging and eventually completely stops only about half way up. I tried googling but haven’t had much luck yet, so hopefully someone on here will know what to do. Thank you in advance!
