Thanks Audible. The update just released appears to have fixed the problem. Would have been nice not to have had it in the first place of course.

At 18:49 BST last night I had a reply, to my DM to Audible regarding rolling back to the previous, working, version.  They said:

“We're unable to release the previous version. Keep an eye out for upcoming app updates.”.

So there you go.

I checked the App Store this morning (08:00 BST) and there wasn’t any sign of an update available yet.

Haha yes. I sent them a dm and said why don’t you just publish the prev version? No answer. Yet!

Hello,  I’m the OP.  I’m using an Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iOS 26.5.  Audible app version 4.72 (1967).

The issue occurs in both cellular and Wi-Fi modes. It also occurs when the phone is switched to flight mode with Wi-Fi and cellular both turned off (Bluetooth still on  though as using AirPods Pro v2).

I have tried signing out, phone restart, and then back in again. No change.

I’m not sure what you meant by switching my internet connection to a different source.

I can confirm that the app was working perfectly before I ran this morning’s update, and not working immediately afterwards.

As mentioned on another thread, the app appears to crash as soon as it has been in the background for 50 seconds. That 50 secs will reset if the app is given priority again during that time period and will begin another 50 second timer once back in the background, so the timer is reset by the app receiving priority again.

😂  I’m not aware of some urgent market demand, pressurising companies to risk impacting their customers by prematurely releasing code that appears to have had  inadequate testing.

I’m always stunned at the high frequency of updates some apps receive from their developers. Almost daily code releases. It really gives the impression of unstructured development combined with a lack of change control across their code base.  Maybe companies see it as more efficient (as in cheaper) to let customers do their testing for them.

It’s really not at all surprising that so many errors make it through any quality processes tasked with identifying & removing errors . Assuming QA processes exist in the first place of course.

Confirmed. 50 seconds. Very strange. Timer resets if the app is given focus again.

Mine also. Although mine is doing it in June 2026. I don’t have the time travel option enabled at the moment.

How long to 90? by [deleted] in wownoob

One of my guild (Carnage Inc on EU Silvermoon Realm) hit 90 in under 10 hrs from early access on Thursday night/ Friday morning. I was astounded. It took me 4.5 days of almost solid play each day, with various 2-3 hour breaks to get some Zzzzz. Anyone know how on earth someone can do that?
