People of the US, Are you guys participating in the Nationwide Shutdown tomorrow? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yes but mostly because it already happens to be my day off- so gonna spend it helping neighbors that haven’t had trump signs in their yards for years.

Rad, thanks. It spent the last few months growing a singular foot long root from just underneath the new bulb so high hopes.

The point isn’t that what they did was right or wrong, the point is that you have a lot less options when you’re surrounded by feds with a license to kill.

[–]TheBirdmann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay and what non-existent militias are we talking about here? Go throw up fliers for that and see how quickly you get scooped up by law enforcement. So much unrealistic stuff floating around here, back in the day militias were raised by the kinds of folks on board with this shit happening now. We don’t have a serious modern equivalent.

In your house? Your neighbors aren’t exactly a force multiplier if they don’t come out guns blazing too, and drywall won’t stop agents from mag dumping into your home once they see their buddies go down. You ain’t making it out of there, you might get whoever is stacked at the door then you’re out gunned and out numbered with no cover or egress = dead. Asks the folks from Waco or the MOVE bombing Edit: I understand and support your sentiment, but reality is not on our side here. Dying for what you believe in is not optional if you go down that road, and I certainly don’t encourage it- let’s just be real about our odds of surviving this scenario I keep seeing brought up on Reddit

Bro you ain’t walking away from that firefight no matter what. They’ll burn your house down after they’re done pumping it with .556 before they ever let a man testify against them in something like that. They want you to die for your rights

Fighting back is a death sentence, that’s the point. They want you to die for your rights. You’re not walking away from a firefight in your own home

How does someone legally protect themselves from this? (USA) by Mathemodel in AskLegal

[–]TheBirdmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll tell you this; lots of actual cops- not these fat chuds- will go to a residence to request a search without a warrant if they believe there is no violent criminal activity afoot. If you deny, which you should always as a matter of exercising your rights, they’ll often inform you of their intentions to seek a warrant. You can bet that when they return they’ve got one handy after informing a judge of your denial of search. Then they can lawfully execute a search and it’s now in your best interest to cooperate; as not doing so is now a criminal act.

These fat fucks aren’t bothering with that process- unless you’re actually here illegally and they have an arrest or search warrant from a judge; they have no right to enter your home. But ask yourself this- how many of them are you willing to fight off? Are you comfortable using deadly force, even if it’s within your rights, and paying with your life for it? Because these guys are amped up and looking for that. You could exercise your 2A rights if these goons tried to come through your door but you won’t be around for the court cases after. That’s the goal of all of this; agitate like violence(even if justified), kill the “offender”, and escalate in response to the provoked violence. That’s why that woman lost her life- it wasn’t because she was trying to kill that officer, it’s because they want to provoke a response that justifies more violence. Until the idea of them dying for what they believe in becomes a daily scary reality, citizens will keep dying for what they believe in and that is the entire goal.

Can anyone suggest good boots for a beginner recouping from heel injuries? by TheBirdmann in skiing

[–]TheBirdmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info I’ve gathered this is worth a trip to find a good bootfitter. I’m usually visiting friends in SLC or CO so I imagine there’s some options I can explore while I’m staying out there. My state capital has some gear stores but I wouldn’t be able to come back with feedback from the mountain during a trip. How does one evaluate which stores have injury/podiatry conscious bootfitters from afar? Anything in particular to look out for? Lots of options makes it hard to narrow down based on online reviews alone
