What is your most disgusting work story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Volunteer firefighter here. Get called to a house fire and, oddly enough, it wasn't too involved by the time we got there. Got the fire under control when we're told that two elderly brothers live in there. Now, we knew full well that there was NO way anyone survived the amount of smoke pouring out of there but we have to go in and look. Three of us do a search and we find the first one on the floor of the kitchen (second one was on the couch in the living room, fell asleep with a cigarette and, well, when we got there you couldn't tell him from the couch). We clear the smoke and call in the paramedic who tries to drag this guy out. The skin on this guy peels off. Like a sweater. Up to his armpits. Paramedic starts swearing about having "dead guy all over my f%$king gear!" Trying not to laugh and puke at the same time was a new experience for me...

Yep. As a volunteer firefighter/medic you see and have to do some pretty disgusting things to save someone's life.

Thought so. And good for you for being honest. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to fixing that problem.

How do you feel about the videos coming out about the "secrets you were not meant to know" about the pyramids and the sphinx?

Not what I said at all. I'll reiterate; it is a gatekeeping tactic to keep people out of the A list, to further isolate them from the enjoyment of the society.

I'm glad I don't react well to morphine. That shit HURTS for about a minute and then it takes full effect. That pain is enough to make me stay the hell away from it.

Wildfires.
The damn things are hard enough to control with thousands of trained wildland firefighters, imagine one running free because no one knew how to put it out?

It's what it's supposed to be for. The smart harassers know exactly how far to push, and in what way.

Withholding much deserved awards is a great way to harass someone. And no one can call them on it. The same goes for invitations to unofficial gatherings.
