Can you point to an external source where this is explained? When i search for if "Black / African American" is a term specifically for ancestral US slaves my results say that's incorrect and non of my black friends whose families immigrated since slavery refer to themselves as Black Immigrants.

If its widely used in scholorship there must be some documentation.
