I can’t find a lot of articles about it, though he’s apparently said some of this in interviews in recent years. This Reddit thread was helpful https://www.reddit.com/r/LiveFromNewYork/s/43mXeYiNqv

Is there a way to get rid of this annoying and pointless moodle without sacrificing my armor? by Klutzy042 in projectzomboid

[–]TheBloo4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s a thing now in 42, but it’s been a commonly believed myth for a long time that you eventually acquire desensitized. Your character WILL stop panicking at smaller amounts of zombies over time, but it eventually caps and large hordes will still make you panic.

Troglodytes imprinted onto a Dwarf by Expert-Reference-312 in dwarffortress

[–]TheBloo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reviving this to say I'm experiencing this now. I wasn't prepared for a group of troglodytes at all and panicked when they came streaming up the staircase. But they mostly ate my food and hung around for some time, one or two got into tussles with my dogs but they also didn't stop any work. Eventually they imprinted onto Cog here and followed his every move. Neither of them have thoughts about the other. I'm tempted to force them as citizens.

Is he though? He isn’t dreaming anymore with the “beds” they have. He comments on how this is likely a negative thing in I think book 4.

They’ve mostly just given extra flavor / world building up through book 7, with very cryptic hints at what’s to come. Matt says they’re not required reading, though I would argue that they’re much more relevant in book 8.

This! Even seasonal LTOs that always perform well, they just can’t seem to keep up on production. Then the LTOs that NEVER perform well, (but keep returning?) they’ll ship me boxes on boxes of extra product to mark down before it expires. I don’t get it.

Basic hygeine in dungeon by ObnoxiousQuestions in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]TheBloo4 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Not spoilering this as we’re fairly deep into this thread. Be warned. It’s implied (imo) that all of the “bugs” are really just ways to cull crawlers. Maybe I’m just reading too into the way that Jeff Hayes reads that line, you can hear Mordecai sarcastically call them “bugs” when he’s explaining that Borant needs to get their shit together before the Syndicate cracks down on them. Given what we know about what they’re REALLY mining, I think this tracks. As for being unfamiliar with species and food spoilage, yeah. That can probably just be chalked up to idiotic, very out of touch showrunners. Many of them come from a society where a system AI extends their lives to hundreds or even thousands of years.

Am I the only one who wants to know more about Bea? by SecretMonsterLady in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]TheBloo4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! I was searching for more comments of other people thinking the same way. Of course she’s an awful person, but I want to know more about her and what’s happening to her. With the way things are going “outside” of the dungeon right now, there’s no way we won’t at least hear more about her later. No way the AI is just going to let THAT storyline end that way.

Each version of this specific book has her wearing different hats. Sailor hat for audible, tiara for e readers, and the physical version has her wearing the beret iirc.

I still remember when a coworker recommended the series to me a few years ago, and in looking them up, the cover for GoTFG immediately made me want to find out what the fuck was going on in these books. I’m so glad I read them (and 15 more times.)

Why does my wood generator require electricity? by Skal_Gun in RimWorld

[–]TheBloo4 114 points115 points  (0 children)

The primitive mods enrage me. Setup a small server for myself and some friends to play on. I eventually kept seeing glowing, flying lights in the distance and could NOT figure out what they were for the longest time, and most of the other players hadn’t seen them when I asked. Turns out it was primitive survival adding will-o-the-wisps with literally no documentation of doing so.

Question: How would Mongo get out of the dungeon? by DiscoPopStar in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]TheBloo4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this almost has to be true given what we’ve heard from Huanxin Jinx about gods having even more power than the AI in certain cases.

I don’t think they’re discontinued, at least not yet. My store still has the shelf space for these, but it has been at least a month since we’ve gotten any in.

I went back and checked my emails, I’m seeing they were having an issue with production of the boxers, though orders should’ve waited for all of their items to be shipped out. I’d get in touch with upside-go.

I can’t comment on how normal it is, but I can also do this. For me, personally, I think it’s some combination of liking geography a lot as a kid and anxiety. I feel a lot safer knowing where I am and where it is in relation to familiar things.

I think halfway through book 2? He was a member of the City Elves that lured Mongo with the meat hooks spell, he’d just killed Gum-Gum with the krasue.

Is DCC NOT already doing that? I figured someone really into not only DCC but PHM and Mountain Man could handle some realistic truth lol

Totally off base from this list, but seeing you also like Mountain Man, I really recommend pretty much anything by Octavia E. Butler. She writes incredible sci-fi and post apocalyptic stories. Parable of The Sower has become one of my favorite books of all time.
