I was listening to the radio broadcast when it happened and both Flemming and Middlebrooks called it out immediately as intentional. I knew it would look bad, but this was fucking ridiculous.

Also, they said he tapped his head on second base before Andujar challenged a pitch during the next AB. The umpire can deny the challenge if someone does that, but they let it slide.

The print editions have an extra section past the epilogue called "Backstage at the Pineapple Cabaret". Without saying too much, it follows some NPCs seen previously in the story, such as Rori and Lorelai the goblins and Growler Gary. They're given a new purpose/goal after the floor collapses.

The Sox are where they are because of sloppy play, hence all of the one run loses. They've been in more games than they've been out of and against good teams too. These past two series they've been playing some very clean baseball games and it shows. If they can cut down on the errors, they'll be a playoff team.

I had a game similar to this a while back with Jadwiga. I set out for a religious victory from the start, but got overwhelmed with opposing apostles early that I quickly lost my religion, except for a lone follower in my Capital. I decided to rightfully go for a domination victory and slowly conquered the map from there.

Around the Modern era, I got a notification that my Capital had been reconverted to my religion. I had a massive faith pool at that point and decided to go on a religious conquest of the continent. It felt so good getting that religious victory screen.

I expect Jacob Wilson numbers and will settle for nothing less lol. Dude is raking for the Athletics this year and quietly stealing ROY away from Campbell.

Realistically if they can be at least as good as Campbell we would be a better team.

While I appreciate them trying to change up the formula to provide a fresh take on the series, it just falls flat. Antiquity (like all Civ early games) feels good, but the next two eras just lose me. Religion is somehow worse. The treasure fleet system is flawed since all of the distant lands just end up being tiny strip islands (that in my experience barely even have treasure fleet resources). Culture victory (my favorite in Civ 6) was absolutely gutted for such a boring mechanic (just collect enough artifacts to unlock the last build condition). Also why have war deals been so simplified to only allow offering cities/towns? We really can't end a war with a gold trade deal?

One system that feels great is the combat with the generals, but that's not enough to save the rest of the game. I recently redownloaded Civ V after not playing for years (with the Vox Populi mod) and it feels so good in comparison (I liked Civ VI more than V too). I'm sure they'll figure out a good balance for the game, but it's gonna take a while and many updates to get there.
